Fox Cable News in Public Places, Update. By Geniusofdespair

Carlucci Restaurant in Pompano had it broadcasting...without sound, thank the Lord for that. Also, I was invited to dinner at Bella Luna Restaurant in Aventura Mall, it was playing there at the bar. Where is your sightings of Fox News? I previously reported on the plot by Rupert Murdoch to indoctrinate our morons.

Anyplace that plays fox news should be told by the patrons that they do not want to hear propaganda and will only return if the establishment will use another source for its public TV.

Mensa, Mensa, you have a one-track mind! Remove the blinds from your eyes and see and hear other opinions besides your own -which seem to be limited and very far left. Could it be old age?

Anonymous, anonymous, these are not opinions on Fox news, they broadcast propaganda.

They even admit it.

Bill O is not an unbiased reporter. It is not balanced reporting. Never was, never will be.

Check out the documentary: Outfoxed. You can watch it for free at freedocumentaries.org It's about Fox News.

Here is one of the problems I have with most liberals, even ones on our County commission. I would say that I lean conservative in my political philosophy, but that doesn't mean that I don't think persons who are more liberal than myself are stupid and are incapable of good ideas. I even undestand that they feel as strongly about their stances as I feel about mine. But most liberals that post on here, and opine in public, can't uderstand how some people could possibly disagree with them. They look down their noses in fits of political snobery and imply that if you are conservative, it's just because you don't know any better.

case in point. look at their monikers:

mensa, genius, etc...

from now on, I'll just start calling myself "successful rich guy"

So what if Fox News is biased. So is CBS. So is ABC. So is NBC, CNBC, and MSNBC. So is PBS. So is CNN.

Here is a revelation for you: every news source is biased. And that includes the eyeonmiami blog. And everyone needs to follow multiple sources of news to ascertain the truth. Be thankful that that restaurant is at least playing some news and getting the process started.

Anonymous said...

To loop to another post thru this one..biased? WPBT/Channel 2 on Friday night at 730pm - 1 lone MiamiDade schoolboard member to talk with Helen Ferre about why Rudy Crew should go. 1? 1 point of view? on Public Television! I was amazed because generally they present both sides, but there she was, the badly facelifted Marta Perez, yak yak yakking about why she doesn't like Rudy Crew and blaming the entire school budget problem on his shoulders.

Anonymous said...

of course this is biased. It is a blog. what news is that? Blogs are inherently opinions. Fox is like a blog but plays as if it is not editorializing on everything.

Also my name cannot be separated. It is meant to be with despair. I will explain it sometime when I am drunk. I will never reach the IQ of Mensa.. I have a better chance of matching the successful rich guy

Don't like what you read here...there are plenty of like minded blogs you can find.

Anonymous said...

Conservatives don't know any better they are driven by self- interest and the almighty dollar, profit at any cost, bootstrap economics...case in point "successful rich guy" perfect!

Anonymous said...

Fox is not news in any way. It is better to have no news than biased news...unless you are reading an editorial. Some people don't know the difference. Fox is an editorial station from beginning to end. That is alright as long as you and everyone else recognizes it as that.

Anonymous said...

I remember it being forced on every customer at a gas station in San Diego when I was visiting there a couple of years back. A little TV at every pump showing the O'Rielly show...

Anonymous said...

Fox NEWS is what it call itself. It is not called the Fox Editorial Station which is what it is.

This isn't the Eyeonmiami NEWS blog.

Oh by the way, Mensa is very ,very rich, but he still cares about other people.

back in the cold u.s.s.r. most average russians knew better than to believe the official newspaper, Pravda. Here today we have average folks who swallow the propaganda hook, line and sinker. Striking in light of the Tennessee Jim Atkisson church event.

moes in doral plays fox on one tv and cnn headline news on another, both with closed captions.

Bottom line folks, if you don't like FOX don't watch it, but don't knock it. Many people like it, rich and poor.

Here is some advice: Don't call the blogger names. My blog. I get at least that much from this blog -- control.

Geniusofdespair said...

I removed a blog....differing opinions are fine but don't get personal. I don't want that shit on this blog. I have taken off comments about lobbyist's children etc. and I don't like my made-up name f--ked with.

What would the Information Police at Eye on Miami prefer us to watch?

Geniusofdespair said...

This post is not about what you watch it is about what in tuned in at public places. I don't care what you watch. The question is: Should public places be broadcasting editorial news that does not identify itself as such?

I was raised to never believe everything you see on TV or read in the newspapers. That is what happens when you have parents who come from a communist country. I personally watch FOX for entertainment, (I love to see O’Riley get all fired up), but as someone stated, most Media News Channels are biased either to the left or the right. A good example of this is Ron Paul, which none of the big media outlets gave any attention to. Since he did not fit with the left or the right, he was buried with barley any coverage or support, unlike Obama, Hilary, Mcain, Romni, and Huckabee. If the news machine were truly objective, everyone running for president would get equal amount of air time.

Everyone has to be a critical thinker these days when getting the news. People need to sort out what is fact, what is a smear, and what is slanted. Obviously, the “morons” or “hoi polloi” may be easily susceptible to this so called propaganda, but we can‘t protect the morons. There are too many of them, and how are we going to leave them a bread crumb trail to MSNBC or the Daily News. They will believe what they will believe, watch the news stations that give them the best entertainment (which fox is quite entertaining, even if you don’t believe the crap they are feeding.) Removing a channel from public place will not solve this problem, only better education….but even then, people will believe what they choose to believe.

Before I get accused of being a conservative or a liberal, I want to make it clear that I’m a Libertarian with liberal concerns, and I indeed was supporting Ron Paul during the elections. That said, I'm a strong believer in our constitution and freedom of speech. If a restaurant wants to show Fox, they have every right to voice out there favorite news channel. I may not agree with their selection of propaganda, but it is America, and they have the right to have their TV tuned to that channel. Besides, how many people really pay attention to the news in a bar, restaurant, or a gym, unless some major catastrophe or scandal has occurred? It is quite Orwellian to believe that there is some sort of Murdoch conspiracy. The likely answer is that we are living a red state, and we have a lot of republicans in this town. Most business owners would most likely be a Republican; hence more TV’s with FOX.

By the way, I really enjoy this bog. I don’t agree with all the post, but most of it is on the money. All sides of the fence have to agree that we have a lot of jerks in this town that are mostly into self interest and not into the interest of this community.

Former Presidental press secretary Scott Mc Clellen told a TV interviewer recently that the White House sent its daily "talking points" to FOX news. This is not about bias, but it is about government propaganda, which reminds me more of the former USSR than the USA.

Anonymous said...

Where is the message I saw this morning that was critical of the so-called "genius" and his left-wing bias? The censorship here speaks volumes about why Fox News is needed.

Geniusofdespair said...

The message was removed because there is one rule on this blog...don't piss off the blogger. I wrote that I removed it...read above. This blog isn't news. This blog is opinion. It has as much in common with news as Fox news. Of course you need fox...you certainly don't need this blog.

Geniusofdespair said...

Thank you Paul good comment. Yes a restaurant can play any station they want but I have the right to say I don't like their choice and why I don't like their choice. As the reader above said:

"Former Presidental press secretary Scott Mc Clellen told a TV interviewer recently that the White House sent its daily "talking points" to FOX news"

So, I think it important to talk about Fox as a credible news source.

Anonymous said...

Evidently the talking points McClellan sent out went to pundits and spin doctors. He apologized for letting Chris Matthews, the liberal shill on MSNBC reference Fox News journalists and commentators. First church and state when the media was a town crier, now media and state with c-span and up to the second websites and blogs, soon it will be people and state separation. We already have that in Miami with the BCC. See all you doubters, we can lead the way.

So the Bush Administration sent their talking points to Fox News? Big deal. They probably blast it unsolicited to anyone who will read it, just like their other press releases. I have no doubt conservative talk show hosts at CNN and MSNBC received it, too. Liberals do the same thing with liberal hosts.

I worked as a news producer at a nationally syndicated radio network. When garbage like that would come through the fax machine, we would just trash it.

when something has an impact against the liberal agenda it must be demonized. (i.e. Talk Radio,Fox News and the big monster of all Rush Limbaugh).

If Democrats gain full power watch the ¨fairness doctrine¨ come back. Amazing that this will happen in a country whose top amendments are freedom of the press and speech.

What is so friggin scary about a fat guy bloviating? His ideas suck right? So why try to ban him from the radio?? Maybe he is having an impact and it is getting in the way of people with different ideas?

Stalin would be so proud of all who support this concept.

G.O.D.,
You obviously have the right to voice your opinion. That falls under freedom of speech...but you can't make the business change the channel. That is censorship. You have the right to try persuade them to do so, but with any business, it's the power of numbers that will make them listen and change their dials. Most folks in this town are either republican or indifferent, so this may be a losing battle...and their are many other battles to put your efforts in.

Let us say you have a business and you have MSNBC or the Colbert report on (which I am a fan of Colbert). It wouldn't be fair, if some staunch republican walks in to your business demanding you to turn off that liberal propaganda. He is invading your rights. These things go both ways, that is all I'm saying.

We all agree that FOX wears it's partisanship on it's sleeve, but as stated, so do all of the news channels. Maybe they are not as loud and colorful about it as FOX, which causes me more worry since the other channels use propaganda in a more subtle and sneaky fashion, but the propaganda machine goes both ways.. and neither party is making regulations to stop this kind of action. People just need to learn to read between the lines, question the information they are receiving, and do their own research when getting info from the boob tube.

LOL! In other words, every place but in the confines of my own home. Well isn't that rich!

Since you have taken it upon yourself to judge what I may watch in "public places", i.e. most of the universe, could you list those news outlets that broadcast content that you deem unbiased?

Geniusofdespair said...

I am sick of the haggling and minutiae you are clinging to. If you want to watch frigin’ fox news go do it. I am through playing your stupid little games over and over saying the same thing. If you don’t get it, you never will.

Anonymous said...

If you don’t get it, you never will.

OK. So I don't have to worry about the Eye on Miami Thought Police coming over to "re-educate" me?

If you want to watch frigin’ fox news go do it.

And I don't care if you watch NBC news in a public place. In a free society that's the way it should be.

You have about the dumbest commenters of any blog I have been reading regularly. Where did you dig up these people? Oh, I forgot, it is Miami. The last poster has a few screws loose.
