Lobbyists NOT in Plain Sight. By Geniusofdespair

I wrote about the American (wet) Dream Mega Mall March 6th with the ski slope in it. The developer was Triple Five Worldwide. I looked at the lobbyist list for both names. Well, surprise, surprise. Here is their lobbyist list under International Atlantic. In the subject part do you see the word Mall? This is unacceptable. The land acquisition, in the multi millions, from the State is going before the County Commission next week, the day before it goes before the school board (they also want the property). There is other land as well involved in this project, the bulk of it belongs to 3 others including the Graham company. They, Triple Five Worldwide aka International Atlantic, have been lobbying since August under our noses because they tried to hide it. International Atlantic? Google it, nothing comes up. It is a corporation registered in Delaware. The company should not be able to just choose another one of its companies to lobby under, that is so unfair to the public and frankly the County Commission that knew nothing about this project until the day before it hit the news last week. And now they are voting on it? They should cry foul.

I made a complaint to Ethics on Sylvester Lukis. Look at the subject of his lobbying. I haven't seen the word "general" so many times. I think the subjects have to be more descriptive. Lobbyist Vicky Garcia Toledo does an honest and fair description on her projects. All the rest of the lobbyists should do the same.  We have a right to know.

Genius - you really are a genius! How did you discover that TripleFive is international Atlantic.

Regarding the land deal, there is some state owned wetlands in the way. You can see good renderings and maps on the electronic version of South Florida Biz Journal. It's the state land that needs to be swapped. The rest is private and could be bought (or is being bought already?). A previous member of the Mayor's staff were trying to help TripleFive put together the swap on the state land. I guess when this goes to Commission, we'll get to see what the details of that swap are.

Isn't zoning supposed to be quasi judicial?

The ordinance for the NW land deal is so convoluted, and of course, it's sponsored by none other than Pepe "pave over it" Diaz. This ordinance is 107 pages long!

Can someone please translate this land deal?

Sylvester Lukis? Wow. This guy always gets paid by the rock miners, the felons and all the low lifes. Who knows what has been happening in smoke filled rooms?

Elinette Ruiz was the lobbyist for an inspection firm called MT Causely in Coral Gables. They overcharged the city for their services with inside help.
Lots of people were let go because of Causley.

Miguel de la Portila is a miserable excuse for mankind. No surprise he is lurking in the shadows.

MT Causley is in Homestead too and was closely aligned with Steve Bateman. Enough said.

M T Causley runs the Monroe County Building Department, too.

Wow, a lot of venom directed at lobbyists here.

Get over it, folks. They have every right to ply their trade.

Keep in mind that the biggest benefactor of Katy Sorenson's Good Govt Initiative is none other than Bilzen Sumberg.

Katy can deal with it. So can you guys.

Sylvester Lukis's step-son works for Xavier Suarez, or at least he did. Fox guarding the henhouse? Lukis often got relatives and ex-staffers placed with elected officials. Oozing sleaze...
