According to The Christian Family Coalition, it wasn't the phony mailers against Joe Garcia (paid for suspiciously with cash), or the scandal around self-described "Republican Bad Girl" who is now hiding out from authorities wanting to question her, and it wasn't all the investigations being conducted against Rivera by various agencies that lost him the election. No, none of this made him lose the election. According to the CFC it was because he spoke at a meeting in May - with little fanfare - to a Republican group, that happens to support Gay issues: The Log Cabin Republicans.
With faulty logic intact, the CFC said of Rivera:
"Being seen with an anti-conservative extremist hate group like Log Cabin "Republicans", at the center of so much controversy for so many years, is unwise and imprudent. David Rivera disappointed many constituents by letting himself be used by this discredited group. So, now Republican groups are HATE groups too? The Log Cabin Republicans Mission Statement: "We stand for the proposition that all of us are created equal - worthy of the same rights to freedom, liberty, and equality." Does that sound like an "anti-conservative extremist hate group?"
He felt his constituents' disappointment on Election Day."

Verdugo can be my bitch anyday.
This guy Verdugo is probably going apoplectic over the gay marriage issue at the Supreme court. I wonder if he wrote them to give a "five minute presentation"
By the way, the log cabin republican's support gay rights, as do a lot of republican's, more each day. He may want to come out of the stone ages one day but it is amusing watching him go nuts in public!
From their website:
About Log Cabin Republicans
Log Cabin Republicans is the nation's only organization of Republicans who support fairness, freedom, and equality for gay and lesbian Americans. Log Cabin has state and local chapters nationwide, full-time staff in Washington, DC, a federal political action committee, and state political action committees.
What We Believe
We are loyal Republicans. We believe in limited government, strong national defense, free markets, low taxes, personal responsibility, and individual liberty. Log Cabin represents an important part of the American family—taxpaying, hard working people who proudly believe in this nation's greatness. We also believe all Americans have the right to liberty and equality. We believe equality for gay and lesbian people is in the finest tradition of the Republican Party. We educate our Party about why inclusion wins. Opposing gay and lesbian equality is inconsistent with the GOP's core principles of smaller government and personal freedom.
Why We Exist
Log Cabin Republicans work to make the Republican Party more inclusive, particularly on gay and lesbian issues. Equality will be impossible to achieve without Republican votes. Working from inside the Party—educating other Republicans about gay and lesbian issues—is the most effective way to gain new Republican allies for equality. Log Cabin also exists as a voice for GOP values among members of the gay and lesbian community.
Just the headline made me laugh....I guess it had nothing to do with a Federal Investigation or the fake Dem candidate running against Garcia? right? OMG,this guy needs a life on a new planet.
This tactic is just as silly as the left-wingers who claim that Romney lost the election because:
1. Teaparty conservatives have hijacked the Republican Party
2. Republicans are too opposed to illegal immigrants
3. Republicans are on the wrong side of gay marriage.
It's all spin to sway Republicans into changing their core positions.
You mean their lame, antiquated values from the 50's.
Values don't have decades. They are firm and are not swayed by pop culture.
Look at all the politicians who attend their forums...
