The Christmas Season is Officially Over. By Geniusofdespair
I finally took down my Christmas Tree. I was toying with the idea of leaving it up till next year. No support in my family for that idea.
my older sisters birthday is jan 16 and my mum always left the tree up until at least then...there was one remarkable year when the tree was left standing until Feb 1..i still find it stunning to see trees on the curb just hours after christmas day.
For many of us the season lingers on for several weeks. Birthdays, beginning of the year fasts, memories of the holidays, whatever, we prolong it. We just took our tree and decorations down too. Now the new year begins in earnest.

Always a sad day. I love the smell of the pine tree.
We move ours outside with the lights still on but no ornaments. It makes for a nice light in our yard on these long winter nights!
Yes I like the smell of plastic and will miss it too.
