Anthony Verdugo's Christian Family Coalition Headquarters. By Geniusofdespair

I wonder if he even pays rent. Who has Guidestar?

Separation of church and state? That is so 18th century.

Anonymous said...

Guidestar is a charitable organization guide. Let me go look them up, I have an account with them or anyone can. It's at www.guidestar.org They will ask for an email address, it's free and actually a very good tool for donors or suspecting people like me!

Talk about another Hialeah lawsuit. This is just getting more unreal day by day.

CFC and Honey Boo Boo Bell.

A match made in Heaven!

Anonymous said...

Barf tag, please? Can we get a new Bell Barf or Barf Bell? Just asking!

I like the honey boo boo Bell name but Homestead Hillbilly works great too!

Anonymous said...

Does this mean the city of hialeah is the owner of this property? are our city fathers getting any compensation for the residents? with every politician being a bible thumper now i am hoping they are getting paid by this mega religious group.

Geniusofdespair said...

"Mega" religious group? It is not mega and it is not religious.

Wow! "Genius of Despair", thank you for all the attention you are giving us. This is exactly why we need the Christian Family Coalition (CFC), because as a human rights and social justice organization, we support EQUALITY FOR ALL, even yourself. I hope you will join us supporting the 2012 Legislative Invocation Ordiance which prohibits discrimination on the basis of speech, by restoring SPEECH EQUALITY FOR ALL. even the ACLU agrees with us that this ordinance IS CONSTITUTIONAL.

Let's do lunch, my treat!

Anonymous said...

I thought the ACLU wrote objections? Can ANYONE spell out specifically what does the CFC do other than be anti Gay rights? What does it do specifically for human rights (which is quite an oxymoron knowing some of the written positions)!

What are the benefits to the membership? Oh, I guess I'll dig around in the CFC tax returns! Let's see just how much actually goes to "program services"! Another oxymoron!

And, as the question posed somewhere on this blog yesterday - why do organizations who pay no property taxes have more rights than their neighbors in residential areas? Answer that one please!

Anonymous said...

Hey you know I don't agree with these guys on anything, but I'm also not scared of what they have to say. What the hell, it's a free country.

Anonymous said...

Finally, the hypocrites have come out of the closet! You claim to be for "equal rights" and "tolerance", however, if you had your way, you'd throw ALL the Christians into the lion's den!

Anonymous said...

Got tolerance! Your attack on the Christian Family Coalition (CFC), sounds just like the KKK did in the 60's when they attacked African-Americans fighting for their rights! Shameful and despicable!

Anonymous said...

How does the CFC fighting for their rights affect you? Get a life!

Anonymous said...

The more you write against CFC, the stupider you look. Do you support slavery also?

Anonymous said...

Why do you feel so threatened by CFC, could it be that you are feeling insecure about what you believe?

Anonymous said...

Why is it that EVERYONE in this country has rights in this country, except for Christians? and Why is it that the same people who claim to be open-minded are really not?

Anonymous said...

Being a Christian is not a crime. There is nothing wrong with supporting organizations like CFC, move on!

Anonymous said...

Get with the times, the time they are a changin' and groups like the CFC are the future, get used to it!

Anonymous said...

There was time when Christian were in the catacombs, looks like those who attack CFC want to go back to that time.

Horacio said...

The CFC is not a Christian group it is a political action group. On our website it say:

"The Christian Family Coalition works to introduce pro-family legislation at the state and local levels of government. We inform and educate citizens on where candidates stand on the issues that affect the traditional family unit."

I have been a member for years. We endorse the best candidates and educate voters against "Gay Friendly" candidates.

Anonymous said...

I have decided to come out of the closet, I am a CFC supporter, so STOP THE HATE against people of faith! Stop hating on the CFC.

Anonymous said...

Cristophobia (hate against Christians). If you hate CFC, then you are a Cristophobe.

SAY NOT TO CRISTOPHOBIA!

Anonymous said...

Cristophobia (a fear and hatred against Christians).

SAY NO TO CRISTOPHOBIA!

Anonymous said...

The comments are hysterical, keep them coming.

Javier said...

I love Christians. I am a Christian. I hate the CFC. What does that make me: A CFC hater.

Your logic is off anonymous.

Many Christians hate the CFC but don't hate other Christians or the religion itself. We are CFCPhobians.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous, WAKE UP! You're having a bad dream, we fought the culture war and won.

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL, INCLUDING CHRISTIANS!

Anonymous said...

Hey Horace, I've been a CFC supporter for years also. Great to see a fellow member on Eye on Miami. Any other CFC supporters out there?

Anonymous said...

Jimmy here, I'm a CFC supporter!

Anonymous said...

Hey me too, I'm an attorney and a LIFELONG MEMBER of the CFC

Anonymous said...

I'm a doctor and also belong to CFC.

Long live CFC!

Anonymous said...

Steve, a proud member of the military.

CFC member reporting for duty sir!

Anonymous said...

??? Why are you all writing??? We don't care that some anonymous people claim they belong to the CFC.

Anonymous said...

Okay, getting back to the separation of church and state issues - what do any of the CFC supporters who claim to do "human rights work" or whatever actually do? Are you a PAC or a religious organization?

In any event no one was bashing Christianity but it was a nice try at some really bad and odvious deflection to avoid answering two, well three simple questions:

1) What exactly have you DONE to help PEOPLE with Human Rights issues?

2) Why don't you have to pay property taxes and get all these benefits of property uses a residential property owner next door doesn't have?

3) Do you pay any rent to the Hialeah and why with so much property your organization owns don't you have your own address and not a municipality because the people who pay taxes there may be pretty mad.

Please keep your fake arguments out of the answers because it doesn't make you sound very bright!

Anonymous said...

23 emails support CFC only 10 oppose.

WE WON, YOU LOST!

Geniusofdespair said...

You won? What are you 11 years old? Nobody wins on this blog except me. You all didn't even address the issue. You are lucky I didn't delete you all for being off topic.

Anonymous said...

Genius of despair, you and I both know that it's always a numbers game, but well taken it is your blog. Btw, as far as I can tell, the rabid Cristophobes who have been relentlessly attacking CFC are the one who are off topic. Funny, how the "tolerant" all of a sudden become INTOLERANT when they don't agree with our free speech rights!

Geniusofdespair said...

There is no free speech on a blog. Get your own blog and you can have whatever you want...except maybe readers.

Anonymous said...

I am a Christian and despise the CFC's so called so called values. If Jesus came back and saw what this group did in his name he wouldn't stop throwing up.

There is no Christiophobia, there is Idiotphobia.

Lastly, Honey Boo Bell rolls off the tongue easier than Honey Boo Boo Bell. The second boo is redundant.

Honey Boo Bell. Perfect.

Anonymous said...

I thought the consensus was CFC is bad and was banned a few years ago. Oh well.

Anonymous said...

You can tell how out of touch a group is by how easily they invoke their cause to be equal to black civil rights.

Last group to do that - the Pitt Bull people.

Anonymous said...

Wow. John Dubois has been busy!

Geniusofdespair said...

Your comment about Coral Gables Sr. High and Shenandoah Jr. High was most interesting... but I deleted it.

Anonymous said...

Hate is NOT an American value. Stop hating on the CFC.

SAY NOT TO CRISTOPHOBIA!

Anonymous said...

Always impressed by all the "intelligent" people who write on this blog. They claim to be tolerant, but they're rellay intolerant. They claim to be Christians but are really un-christ-like. They claim to love but really hate.

Get over it. CFC is here to stay, get used to it.

SAY NO TO CRISTOPHOBIA!

I could not find any tax filings under Christian Family Coalition through Guidestar, which is weird. Charities have to file some type of form as do religious organizations to insure they're complying with the tax code. If they are tax exempt something should be there federally unless I'm looking in the wrong place. What is this group other than a non profit and what kind of tax return to they use? They have a tax ID Number...........Help!

Is this group some type of PAC? If so, that wouldn't be found under a non profit. Somethings not right or I'm looking in the wrong place.

Anonymous said...

This is the most work Honey Boo Boo Bell's staffers have done since they've taken office.

And I see Hannah finally figured out that she can post her pro-CFC posts "anonymously".

Praise the Lord!

Anonymous said...

Looks like tha congregation from da Radical Religious Racist Right has turned this into a Bible throwin' contest.

They's gonna be some big-time hate spewin' di-rected ta-wards EOM eminatin' from pulpits across South Dade this Sunday!

Y'all come ta church!

Anonymous said...

Wow! They are really coming out from under the rocks! CFC's claim to fame is not supporting christian values (golden rule, love thy neighbor, what you have done to the least of you, you have done to me). CFC is simply a homophobic, intolerant group of bigots. Hard to take them seriously but then they intimidate the commission into reinstating prayer. What do they see as wrong with a moment of silence?

Anonymous said...

Talk about crap! CFC is the only true human rights and social justice organization in this this state.

I have never more Cristophobic folks than the ones on this blog, they can't argue the issues on their own merits, so they have to stoop to cheap name-calling.

Whatever, long live CFC.

SAY NO TO CRISTOPHOBIA!

Anonymous said...

Can anyone on this blog state a coherent thought?

NOT

Just wondering.

Long live CFC.

SAY NO TO CRISTOPHOBIA!

Geniusofdespair said...

Saying Cristophobia over and over makes no sense and does not advance your argument one bit. It just make you seem, well, dumb. How does the fact that some of my readers not liking a self described entity: "To empower Families at the grassroots level to give them a voice in their government again" relate to Christ? It doesn't. You cannot make a giant leap of logic and say that people who are not thrilled with the group CFC are afraid of Christ. That makes absolutely no sense. But, if you are indeed without sense, say it enough times and maybe at least you will believe it because no one else will. You can't say it here anymore until you back it up with some logic.

"CRISTOPHOBIA” Noun - Irrational fear that Charlie Crist will run for and win the Florida governorship in 2014.

300 E. 1 Avenue in Hialeah is the address of the Blanche Morton Center. It houses social service agencies as well as some county and state human resources offices. The building belongs to the City of Hialeah and was donated by Blanche Morton to the city. By the way, she was the wife of the cartoonist who created the Dick Tracy comic strip.

Geniusofdespair said...

I knew it wasn't Hialeah's City Hall. However, I think that CFC might not be paying any rent for their headquarters. The head of Hialeah's faith based Board is Juan E. Perez. Perez also is a a partner of Verdugo in CFC and is co-owner of Verdugo's home.

Anonymous said...

I watched Putney today and am so surprised no one calls this guy out on his claims - what has his group done for "social justice & human rights"? In any event, I'd personally donate to the ACLU or anyone who takes on the County if they pass this ordinance. I'm so sick of MY rights as a citizens and taxpayer being violated. I don't want to mix religion with a County commission meetings and should not have to be subjected to any type of "prayer" for just attending a Government meeting. This is just BS and has nothing to do with whatever religion anyone wishes or not wishes to practice. I want a separation of church & state. Silence in Golden here!

Hey Genius of Despair, here is Christophobia (defined):

Anti-Christian sentiment is an opposition to Christians, the Christian religion, or the practice of Christianity. Christophobia or Christianophobia are also names for "every form of discrimination and intolerance against Christians" according to Council of European Episcopal Conferences (CCEE).[1].

Link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christophobia.

You may also be interested to know that Christophobia was the feature story in Newsweek magazine February 13, 2012 as it relates to the murder of Christians in the Muslim world.

thank you for the opportunity to share with with all your readers on your blog.

The idea that Christians are discriminated against in this country, especially compared to those of other faiths, is laughable. Give me a god-damned break!

Anonymous said...

You have to love how misguided people are comparing those against the CFC to the KKK. Take a closer look and you will see the CFC is the KKK in sheep's clothing. Smoke and mirrors does not hide your hatred and no doubt many of those who support the CFC would have been in hoods in the 50s.
There is very little Christian about the CFC and being against the CFC is far from being anti-Christian. Bigotry and hatred are not the true Christian values.
