It's outrageous. State Rep. Erik Fresen is the drum major for the gambling industry. He has never showed up for a debate with challenger Ross Hancock, who is endorsed by EOM. Voters in Fresen's district: send a message to the carpet baggers who run the good ole boys in Tallahassee. Vote for Hancock.

I support Ross Hancock because the incumbents like Fresen should all return to doing their own idiotic businesses like wrecking Floridas educational system.
Talk about idiot: Fresen and his buddies papered the November ballot with their right wing fantasies.
To the first anon, I don't think business experience is a requirement for this office, but I am neither an idiot nor without significant business experience. I was a communications executive for a major insurance company, a senior account executive at one of the world's largest PR companies, owned a communications firm for more than a decade, founded and published an AP-member rural newspaper, and am currently the communications director of a 70,000-member non-profit association (American Welding Society) responsible for growing the ranks of skilled industrial workers and bringing high-paying manufacturing and energy jobs back to the U.S.
Hancock is an environmentalist who cares about the Florida Everglades, who cares about good public school education (vs. Fresen whose family OWNS the Charter School company that forced the Coral Gables Charter school on his constituents AGAINST their wishes), who will vote to lower homeowners insurance to an affordable rate, and who wants to be sure that bringing Chinese-backed casinos to Miami won't cause the homelessness ghetto that surrounds Las Vegas,or increase organized crime activity, and who UNLIKE Fresen won't have ethics charges and convictions, IRS problems, or personal home foreclosure issues. BTW, are you aware that the Miami Herald property has been purchased by these Chinese-backed big casino operatives and that the Herald owners have a big stake in getting Fresen re-elected?
How could ANYONE, Republican, Independent, or Democrat -- vote for Fresen over Hancock?
ABF - Anybody but Fresen. Hancock is one Dem that this Republican will be supporting.
Ross Hancock is a breath of fresh air .... He tells it like it is. He is soft spoken and seems easy going, but Ross is a person who gets things moving.
Fresen on the other hand, between his anti-public school stance, pro-gambling commitment and pro-development stance leaves me cold.
I went to both community meetings that fresen RSVP'd to and was a no show. In both cases, the planners held up the meeting start waiting for fresen to show up.
One of the meetings was on our education system ---a topic that he should have known lots about, but he avoided it. I can't vote for behavior like that...
Obama doesn’t like to debate. But Obama is taking the next debate seriously because he now knows with another poor performance he loses the presidency. Fresen loves to talk and be center stage as evidenced by his support for gambling and charter schools. So why doesn’t he show up at these local debates after he tell everyone he will be there?
He doesn’t show up because he is a shadow politician, there but no really there, claiming to represent the voters but really representing others. Amory Bodin, Fresen’s primary challenger called it right when he said that Fresen was more concerned about Hialeah than Cutler Bay. And now we can add Palmetto Bay to that statement.
Keep in mind, it is not the voters that motivate Fresen rather it is the lobbyist and special interest groups that keep fueling his ego.
Run hard to the end Ross!
U need to add Pinescrest to Fresens ignore list. I don't think it is Fresen's ego that is getting fueled ... It is more than likely his wallet.
What the Herald calls Fresen's ability to hammer out compromises when warranted is really cronyism, knowing people, getting the inside deals done, and that's all Fresen is all about!
