Early Voting In Aventura, Florida 10/27. By Geniusofdespair

Hit on the photo to see it enlarged.

People at the front of the line about 2:30pm said they had waited about 3 hours. The line doubled back behind the building and made a U near the door. You are looking at two lines, one is against the building.

Let's go to the video tape:

It is always better on election day because there are more polling places open.

I think it is fabulous! It means that people care. The ballot is really, really long which certainly made the lines longer.

Actually, I did volunteer work early voting every day during the Bush-Kerry race. The lines were MUCH longer for early voting. I did a little observing during early voting in 2008...same. Early voting is always marred by long waits and long lines.

It has morphed into a big social event. A chance to see neighbors, and friends, meet new people, network for business, even get dates. There is a lot more going on than just voting.

Early voting was a washout so far for me. But lucky me, I gave up at the Coral Reef Library and got home in time to see the NEW Rick Scott TV commercial for Vice Mayor of Palmetto Bay, er that's JOHN DUBOIS for Vice Mayor.
