Bruno Barreiro's Campaign Report. By Geniusofdespair

County Commissioner Bruno Barreiro just spent $3,708.06 on a MacBook Pro. He also spent $169.06 on a power adapter. Really Bruno, do you think that is a good use of campaign dollars? I don't. Also, you paid a lot, the Apple 17 inch MacBook Pro can be had for $2,259. The power adapter cost is $79.00 at the Apple Store. As if that weren't enough, they have a line item for office supplies from the Apple Store. Very odd, that cost is $67.92. I didn't even know the Apple Store sold office supplies.

Bruno also paid $514.11 for software from the Apple Store. The Computers come fully loaded with software, that is pretty odd, what kind of software would you need for a campaign that Apple would sell? The Microsoft office suite for Mac is only a little over $100. That would open any Excel file they would need. He also bought an I-Pad for $960.86 and a Time Capsule for $533.93 from the Apple store. Bruno spent a total of $6,290.83 at the Apple store. He also reimbursed himself for a computer in the amount of $4,166.63. Are these computers dipped in gold? Over $10,000 in computer expenses, that is excessive.

Did Bruno get ripped off or is he padding his report? I think a campaign should be run mean and lean with used equipment, not with spanking new top of the line computers. No wonder the County Commission can't manage their budget, with guys like Bruno involved.

I don't recall seeing computers on campaign reports. Cell phones, but not computers.

...and when the campaign is over, these items do not get donated as leftover funds, the candidate gets to keep high end electronics as their own, paid for by donors. This is no less a payoff than the traditional bag full of bucks. Take a look at how much Homesteads Steve Bateman spent on computers, printers, etc. What happened to those items ? Campaign finance reform is not just about the big ticket stuff and corporate donors, it is about taking away the entitlement attitude of the well funded candidate.

Rivera tops everybody for campaign expenses. According to state prosecutors, be expensed escorts, because as an unmarried man "it was necessary for him to appear at campaign related events with a female escort."

Bruno sells his vote and worse he can't tell when the lobbyists are scamming him.
