As we face these attacks on our local environment, it's easy to become discouraged and overwhelmed, and to feel helpless about what to do. On an individual level, we might indeed by powerless to stop the proposed changes. But together we are powerful. - Laura Reynolds, Executive Director of Tropical Audubon Society

Add to the threats - and it may be the greatest overall - the Port of Miami Deep Dredge project, which the Tropical Audubon Society, among other groups, has sued to stop by appealing the State's environmental permit. Not only does the Port of Miami propose to blast and dredge the bay for up to two years, but consider the secondary, cumulative impacts of running a major industrial cargo port for the world's largest freighters right next to our beautiful beaches. Until I saw the video, Battle for Biscayne Bay, I didn't fully understand the extent of this project and what it means to Biscayne Bay's future. Thank you Tropical Audubon Society for bringing this lawsuit to protect Biscayne Bay!

Biscayne Bay Waterkeeper also appealed the dredge project and is asking the community to support the legal fund. I gave a small donation through the PayPal account on the website, www.bbwk.com. I hope it helps!
