North Miami's Rotten Government. By Geniusofdespair

The Miami Herald notes some investigations are going on in North Miami.  I found it pretty unbelievable.  At one point they reference the video tape I had linked to in our blog June 15, 2011 of a bribe being accepted by the Mayor's nephew/campaign manager, Ricardo Brutus. The video is gone from the Miami Herald site. Brutus is now cooperating with investigators.

It isn't just Mayor Andre Pierre who is a target of the investigations, it is also Marie Steril. After taking the bribe promising to pull at item, the nephew -- within minutes -- called Steril on his cell phone. She did later pull the item. I think there are a couple of bad eggs in this local government. The mayor was caught on tape talking to Businessman Chelminsky who is cooperating with the investigation:

Mayor Pierre called Chelminsky at 8 a.m. the morning after the resolution passed in Chelminsky’s favor, investigators said. According to the audio recordings, investigators told Brutus that Pierre said: “I didn’t get a thank you. It’s pure politics, I had to vote no. I had to make it look good. I voted no, but you got what you wanted. Pure politics; everyone’s got to play politics here.
Sounds pretty gross.

In the last city election, everywhere there was a Pierre sign, there was also a Steril sign. They are partners in crime.
