Commission Chair Joe Martinez Will Be Gone from the County Commission. By Geniusofdespair

Martinez's Resign to Run Letter ("Praise the Lord!") is included here.  We will finally be rid of him unless he becomes Mayor ("Lord have Mercy on us" on that prospect).  He is resigning to run for Mayor of the County. He didn't have to resign this soon.

The bad news, this resignation  is not effective till November 20th and he can do a whole lot of damage before then. Even worse news: If he wins the Mayoral election.

The bad news, he's a lame duck and can do a ton of damage over the next few months because he's got nothing to lose at the BCC level.

He probably has already anointed his successor, my guess is Zapata, so the more things change, the more things stay the same, except Zapata is cuter than Martinez!

Gimenez has been a huge disappointment to me. I thought he would clear out all of the cronies that Burgess and Alvarez. Not only did Gimenez keep every last crony, Gimenez has made every one of his appointments without a competitive selection process. Shame.

Carlos Gimenez has been a huge disappointment. He has been slow to reduce head count and now his team of nit wits plan to legalize illegal LED billboards and further ruin Miami-Dade County. Who will want to visit once Gimenez let's his lobbyist pals put up another 400 billboards?

Anyone but Gimenez!

Martinez voted to divert over $3 BILLION to a reviled privately owned foreign based company. Yes, the company that owns the Marlins is based in Nova Scotia.

First, Martinez voted against the Marlins deal, just like Gimenez. Second, if Martinez agrees to get rid of the queen of cronies, Alina Hudak, and the rest of her band of political hacks, I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

Don't write off Juan Zapata. I know him very well and he is someone we can talk and reason with.

Give him a chance and I am sure you will not cast him in the same category as Martinez. He is not like him...I know.

Any one that suggests Martinez voted against the Marlins deal is being duped. He voted against the Stadium financing, because his vote was not needed. He did vote for the no bid contract to hunt/moss to build it. Without the no bid, there is no stadium, plain and simple. Without Joe's yes vote, the stadium would have died on that vote.

Joe Martinez is too dumb and inexperienced to review the details of the Marlins scam. Plus Martinez was probably being influenced by lobbyists for the Marlins. That is why Martinez was the crucial Yes vote to approve the No-Bid contract that pushed the scam.

Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria celebrated by immediately buying a $20 MILLION waterfront estate in Southhampton, NY.
