South Dade Matters, a heavily Republican leaning blog (loves Rubio, Bachmann not so much)...takes Miami Dade County Commissioner Lynda Bell to task over legislation she is sponsoring to insert herself in the workings of the CRA. Read the article. I agree with them on this.

In my opinion Missy Bell does not have this kind of wit to think of something so creative. I think someone with more wit thought of this. She is just the vessel that is suppose to introduce this plan. If she would just stop being so vindictive against the people and the City of Homestead and Florida City everyone would be better off. I guess she is trying to get this going before District 8 gets in Recall Mode.
I knew that lazy State Attorney's Office and "Let'em Go" Joe Centorino would do nothing on the absentee ballot scam. I look forward to the report tomorrow.
Bell, this was fed to her, she's not that bright. In regard to CRA's, very few actually do what they're intended to and usually end up funding friends of friends (or relatives) with their "investments". The Homestead Audit was just the tip of the iceberg and probably not as bad as others in Miami Dade.
I think the CRA's need to be thoroughly looked at as to need and progress, which is usually glossed over.
As a property owner in a CRA area, in 11 years, I've seen no improvements in my area, yet have to pay for it. In Homestead, it's a double whammy because I have to use their electric service, whose rates have gone up so high, the "profits" (or gouging the consumer) are being used to supplement the City's annual budget.
Bell, the whopper of a mess she left down here, her nastiness and her total disrespect for our tax dollars and environment will be her political downfall.
Anon you are so correct. These CRA's only benefit politicians, their families and friends and friends of the friends. A Federal Investigation should be done.Lets also investigate the Miami Dade County TAx Assessors Office on their poor investigative techniques in placing tax liens on peoples propety. They are all in this together. Land grab while property values are low. Hold onto the land and in two years give to their friends the developers or will benefit friends or politicians and they develop housing and businesses.

Please ask for a Federal Investigation FBI like you did in Homestead. I think you can do this and make a name for yourself. Put these bums in Jail. These CRA's are just corrupt and mismanaged by alll 9 cities. Good Luck

So everyone agrees that cra's are in terrible shape. So I don't understand when a commissioner, who cares which one, tries to do something about it, she is the devil?
She is the devil but that aside commissioners are not the answer to CRA's, they make everything worse.

Since he moved back from the county, most of the CRA money in Homestead was going to him, his family and friends.
Lynda changed all of that when she became a mayor, right after that Bateman became the mayor, everything is back to the old days, Now insted of Shiver, just wite Bateman....

It is a good or bad idea to have a BCC memer on a CRA board? it is up to you.
I personaly do not like to have a BCC board member there, but i like CRA board members accountable for their actions and have more laws to controle expencess.
why should the Director of CRA in Florida city be making $176,000 plus outsanding benifits?
