Judge Threw Out Florida Redistricting Lawsuit. By Geniusofdespair

A Federal judge threw out the Lawsuit against Amendment 6 (Florida voters passed by 63%).  Who do you think was on the WRONG side of the issue? That's right, none other than Stephen Cody, who represented Natacha Seijas and Lynda Bell at various venues. The Miami Herald said:

"Amendment 6 forbids the state Legislature from drawing congressional boundaries that favor a political party or incumbent — so-called gerrymandering.

Federal Judge Ursula Ungaro, following a short hearing in Miami federal court , ruled that the amendment passed by a majority of Florida voters last November did not violate the U.S. Constitution, as minority House members Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Miami, and Corrine Brown, D-Jacksonville, argued in their lawsuit."

Redistricting starts in January and now they can't do it to favor ONE party anymore. Maybe the legislature will be better without all those Pubs in power.

Cody may have represented Seijas, but they did not agree on this issue. Seijas sponsored a Resolution in favor of Amendments 5 and 6. Commissioner Rebecca Sosa voted against the Resolution. She must have been disappointed by the Judge's ruling today.

Time to write about the City of Miami GoD. Too much sh*t is hitting the fan - and it affects the entire county, in a way.

Why does anyone continue to hire Cody? Has he won anything lately? He takes credit for the court victories of others. It is important to note that he claims to be a democrat, but seems to represent the republicans against the Dems. But then again, who needs this loser.

Nice attitude, that the power belongs to the legislature. No, it doesn't. The legislature only has those poweres granted to it by the people under that pesky little document called the State Constitution. The people just amended that document telling the legislature that we are stepping in to tell you to stop playing games.

Its time for Cody and his bad government cloents to move to Cuba where its the government, not the people who have the power.
