Donations to Luis Posada Carriles are illegal campaign expenses. By Hialeah Julio Robaina. By Geniusofdespair
This is not legal, giving CAMPAIGN FUNDS to the defense fund for Luis Posada Carriles. Hialeah Julio Robaina also made a campaign account donations to Carriles for $800 on 4/11 and a third one on 2/15/11 for $350, total $1,650.
Candidates can only make donations of excess money AFTER the election.
On a related matter Julio Robaina once again chose not to attend a debate. This time the luncheon of the Downtown Bay Forum. Does Julio Robaina have a thing against anyone living on the East side of the County? It sure seems like he does.

The rules don't mean anything to Julio for Mayor candidate. He will pay the fine and shrug it off, meanwhile he made friends with money.
This guy is BAD news.
Doesn't anyone care about this guy's attitude?
I am so depressed by the state of my county.
Unless someone files a complaint, nothing will happen.
What's involved in filing a complaint on this guy? If the media won't cover these issues now maybe citizen outrage and formal complaints will get some light shined on his corruption and criminal activity.
Go to the Florida Elections Commission website at the following address: http://www.fec.state.fl.us/COMPLAINTS/index.html
Download the PDF form and fill it in. Attach copies of the reports showing the illegal expenses.
Have the complaint form signed in front of a notary and mail off to the FEC.
What's depressing is this blog. Get a life people wow. All of you love to hate. Stop whining and start making a difference. You hate the county yet you live here. That sounds like a very personal problem to me.
What makes you think we don't make a difference. After all, you think we sit around and type all day? Get a clue.
It seems everyone on this blog is a Gimenez supporter. Its a shame Gimenez's campaign was nothing more that a smear campaign against Robaina.
If Gimenez had a vision for Miami-Dade County like Robaina, and challenged him on policy issues, he would have enjoyed a much closer race. Instead, his consultants, his world class pollster and the Miami Herald decided to go negative. My neighborhood in the Kendall area are fed up with all this negative stuff. Gimenez needs to talk about what he envisions for Miami-Dade County in the next 5 years.
Julio Robaina has a vision and its at least positive.
Julio Robaina has a vision
That is exactly what I am afraid of.
So you aren't allowed to live in a place and hope it can be better? What do you want people to be sheep? Why don't you move if you don't like being around people who strive for more? Last time I heard this was a free country. What do you think you are living in Cuba where people are expected to leave if they don't like the place?
Outofsight you nailed it.
I think GImenez vision is a good one. Fiscal conservatism to get things back on a sustainable track is job one. Have you heard his 2-minute speech on how to do that. It's a good one. In my house, we don't talk about redecorating the place or buying new cars until we have the bills covered. I would think this conservative county would get their head wrapped around that. Also, in my house, we are honest and we deal with financial matters in a transparent way. I would think that everyone else would appreciate that. We are crying out for it.
Robaina wants to cut costs and that's exactly what we are in need of. He's the right candidate to restore confidence in our community.
