What a disappointment. We are now stuck with Pierre until he gets indicted on that bribery issue ... which hopefully will be sooner rather than later. His campaign manager and nephew, Ricardo Brutus, was already arrested on the unlawful compensation bribery charge.

Gross. Pierre's strategy of being a criminal right out in the open is paying off for him. This is NOT a good day for North Miami.

It is a shame I cannot wait for the police to get Andre Pierre this man is crooked North Miami deserve better

I blame North Miami voters. Low turnout plus the usual ethnically-divided politics have put self-serving jackasses like Pierre and Steril back in for another term.
This is why I call North Miami the City of REGRESS...

Lets respect the integrity of the voting process & decision of the voters. No need for name calling. If you arent satisfied maybe you should have done more to support the opposition's campaign. No use crying over spill or spoiled milk.

Congratulations Scott! Andre Pierre? Well, I figured as much. He's a thug who will eventually be done in by his own arrogance. Struggle on NOMI, you are an ideal location to live in, now you just have to transform yourself into a place people WANT to live in.

Voice of Justice- too much information. Can't write that sort of stuff here.

Simply amazing. Voter intimidation with the elderly happens in North Miami like no place else. "Assisted voting" is likely higher in North Miami than any county in Florida--good chance we'll hear more about that soon. The grapevine reports that absentee votes were going for $25. Pierre did have an outstanding grassroots effort that focused on nothing more than race in a classic divide and conquer strategy.

Citizens of San Souci, Keystone and Arch Creek: UNITE! We can seperate from North Miami and form our own city!

What's all this seperation talk. Carol Keys ran a terrible campaign. period. I was in the great hall of disappointment when they read the results. Keys should have had Galvins campaign manager then she would be in a runoff now even with all the votes Pierre stole!

Separate, is that possible? I would like to know more....

Geniusofdespair said...

You can separate and ask to be annexed by Bay Harbor Islands (if they will take you) or you can form your own municipality. You need a vote of the ENTIRE city to be able to opt out of the city. It can be done...maybe if every single person goes out to vote in the 3 areas you mentioned. I thought once Biscayne Landing was built you would have the numbers but -- you might not as there is hardly anyone living there.

Unless non-Haitian voters, the majority of North Miami's population turn out, nothing will change. Haitians as a whole will always vote Haitian. When Wolland ran against Pierre I overheard a Haitian heading towards my polling station say "I can never vote for a white man" when a Wolland supporter tried to give her a brochure. That is just how they vote. It doesn't matter how bad their candidate is, as long as he is one of them. If whites did that, Obama would not be president now. If whites did that, Cristine Moreno would not have been a mayor of North Miami. When Celestin ran the first time my parent's car was "mobbed" at Sunkist Grove by his "supporters". When I voted at the old Armory they had guys with sticks run towards you and yell in Creole. Its the way they do things. The courts can't help. Look what happened in District 3 during the last election. A Haitian candidate who did not meet North Miami eligibility requirements for residency was given the district after loosing his bid in Miramar.

Non-Haitians (white, African-American, Hispanic, Asian) are the majority in North Miami. They need to turn out and vote before anything will change.

We can only blame those who did not excercise their civic duty to VOTE. Neverthe less, Pierre will not complete his term. He will be arrested and indicted on bribery charges.

As the lord says no stone shall not be overturned and justice given to those who are guilty.
What I dont understand why would a people who fled corruption, poverty, and pestilence than want those same kind of people representing them here in this country? there is a loophole in our system. Congradulations pierre u have big ones!

the re-election of Mr. Pierre is (once again) a sad day for North Miami.

bla bla bla where's the after party? If I ran for mayor I would offer barbecue chicken with beans and rice and I would divide and conquer!

Frustrated in North Miami

I voted. Only Scott won from my vote. As for becoming our own city and entity..I and my husband thought this up several years ago..but do you honestly think the citizens and government of North Miami want to lose 65% of their taxable income? They would never agree to this. I am truly discouraged but not surprised of the outcome of the elections..especially in South Florida..very corrupt government for the most part..very sad.

When I did early voting at the N. Miami Library I personally witnessed young Haitian men leading by the arm-old Haitian men and attempting (arguing with the poll workers) to have them vote without having any photo OR signature ID's.
I just hope that none were allowed to vote! The Poll workers all spoke Creole, which I felt a conflict of intrest.

I gagged when I read Pierre's comments in his victory speech. It appears that the Mayor of North Miami doesn't think he was elected as much as he was anointed by God.

You can be thankful to your creator if that's big in your life, but to declare that its part of "his" plan? Can't get indicted soon enough.

Haitians would vote for a dead Bin Laden if he had a Haitian name and someone put him on a ballot.
