Well, it will be very affective. Unfortunately, Alvarez is not responsible for the foreclosures and the lousy economy. Let's see if we can put someone in there who is responsible for building thousands of homes that we didn't need. Perhaps we will get some more.
It's a good video, but will it be enough? Who is running against VNS if she's recalled?
And,to the people who gathered petitions in both efforts - thank you. But, please, do not talk to anyone claiming to be a whatever. You have rights - use them and stay silent!
Okay. Alvarez proposed a budget increasing the tax rate by a modest amount in circumstances that yielded LOWER taxes than the previous year overall and lower taxes for most taxpayers.
Alvarez is getting attacked for proposing a tax rate that is substantially lower than the tax rate in the cities whose elected leaders are now piling on.
Maybe he was politically tone-deaf. Maybe he should have consulted pollsters. Maybe he should have listened to political handlers.
He did what he thought was right. Even if he was wrong, he should not be slimed in this manner.
How are we going to get honest and honorable people to run for office when a difference of opinion on a pure policy issues results in this type of character assassination?
I agree with first Anon. It's misleading and stupid to put the foreclosure mess in this video. That smells like the crappy tactics used by the other side. Blame for the stadium mess? Absolutely, Amen!
Last anon, for me, it was the Marlin's deal and not keeping Burgess in check. It was also the insider deals last year and then the employee pay raises again this year.
Sorry, I have no "sympathy for the devil" OMG, I may be starting to sound like CATO! (I mean that in an endearing way).
My home, which I've lived in for over 10 yrs and I historically have to apply for abatement, even with the Homestead exemption, is valued at far more than I could possibly sell it for. My taxes increased for no reason other than to pay county employees. Sorry, I hope he and the Vile one get the boot.
We have to have an honest dialogue here. The amount of tax you pay is more related to the cost of running the gang government - not the value of your house. We have sprawled the place into oblivion, mismanaged funds and built a shit load of houses where we now need services. Stop with the home value, already. The county needs to take a haircut. Services will be cut. It's going to be painful. UMSA people - you're screwed. And it has nothing to do with the home value.
Previous poster I feel terrible for your situation. I really do, but these problems were long in the making. The mayor is guilty of some bad things - but not the value of your house or the percentage of taxes you pay. If they had cut like they needed to be cut - we'd be ousting him for cutting services to the bone and not listening to that.

I am afraid I have to dissent here.
I know Alvarez. He is honest and honorable.

It's a start. I would to hear some voice over.
Post,at 1/17,thank you for getting it. Quite frankly, we wanted to incorporate but the VNS made sure we couldn't.
I honestly want my garbage picked up but that's about all I want from the County.
Alvarez is as dirty as anyone else. It's Miami, what do we really espect.
