World Cup 2018 to Russia, 2022 to Qatar ... by gimleteye

Well, I can't wait to go to Russian and Qatar for the World Cup. I mean, when you could go to Spain or Portugal instead? Yes it's going to be rockin' in vodka soaked Moscow, and you'll have four years to sober up for Qatar.

I agree with commentators who say that the loss of the world cup to the US reflects our diminished standing in the world. I wonder, what percentage of Tea Partiers every touched a soccer ball?

I don't have a problem with Russia, but Qatar seems like a lousy idea.

See you in Brazil, gimleteye?

Florida’s Tea Party Caucus congressmen requested $83.5 million in 2010 earmarks

A National Journal report on 2010 earmark requests by the new congressional Tea Party Caucus finds that members of the caucus — which, according to Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., exists to push for “fiscal responsibility” — requested more than $1 billion in earmarks during fiscal year 2010.

Among those making big-ticket requests? Three congressmen from Florida, who together asked for $83.5 million in earmarks.

The report, based on research by Citizens Against Government Waste, lists the following earmark requests:

$13.6 million requested by Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Plant City
$54.4 million requested by Rep. Ander Crenshaw, R-Jacksonville
$15.5 million requested by Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Ocala
Crenshaw’s $54.4 million total is the seventh highest requested by any of the caucus’ 52 members.

The Tea party men are all at the Super Bowl or NASCAR where real men go. So go kick soccer ball and get the hell out of here..

Do you mind if I do it backwards? I'm going to get the "hell out of here" now. I will "kick soccer ball" tonight. :)

BTW, if you like "manly" sports, you should checkout MotoGP. Two weeks after breaking his collarbone into four pieces, manly dude shows up and tries to race his 240hp, 330lb motorcycle. :)

Can you imagine the pressure the company who installs the giant air conditioning systems in Qatar’s massive stadiums will be feeling? Sure would hate to be in charge of that if they broke and forced all the games to be played in 120 F heat! haha
