The Mayor Gets Marlins Money to Help Thwart Petition Attack. By Geniusofdespair

The Miami Herald reports that Mayor Alvarez's PAC has $50,000 of Marlin's money. Alvarez formed the PAC to help in his defense against the recall petition drive led by Norman Braman. The PAC has raised $207,650.00.

Also, in a very smart move, the Mayor's PAC has hired Consultant Ivy Korman to help. Who is she? Ivy Korman was a top echelon staff member at Miami Dade Elections Department. The petitions are certified by elections. If anyone knows anything about election department problems/shortcomings/skeletons it is Ivy. She could probably write a book about what she knows. It would be on the top of my reading list.

Speaking of Norman Braman, I was looking at his family's campaign donor list. Besides donations to DeMint, Rubio and Club for Growth, take a look at this donation. How the hell did Lobbyist Ron Book get in there under 'occupation'? I assume this telling error was connected to how the money was raised for David Rivera, namely by Ron Book.

Ivy has been incredibly helpful to me on some issues with the elections department. She's about as smart as they make them, but she's also very ethical. She may offer advise, very smart advise, but she's on the up and up.

I don't doubt she is ethical, I like Ivy very much. But now as a consultant she is free to point out if there are any problems at elections. We should find out if we can make things run better over there. A former employee in the top tier knows what is going on...

It seems a foregone conclusion that Arrogant Alvarez is going to be recalled. It is also evident that no commissioner will lose his or her job through recall.
Looking ahead, isn't it likely that David Rivera could lose his office over the phantom job/ false disclosures ? If that happens, I am putting my money on Lynda Bell being in the hunt for a seat in Congress to replace him; OR after this Congressional term and redistricting, Lynda Bell gets herself drawn in to the Ileana district, Ileana retires (which she should, the abuela years are over in Congress)and the Bell ringer goes to Washington on the inevitable Palinwave. Sorry, folks, thats how I see things shaping up.

Wow you are a downer but there is one bright spot with your take...Lynda would be gone from Miami Dade day-to-day dealings.

If it will get Bell out of County Hall, I'll spearhead her campaign to Tallahassee, not Washington though. We have enough problems there and it wouldn't be fair to the midwest! There are term limits in Florida, but not on the federal level!

I'm very surprised they didn't give more, maybe they will if there's a viable, well funded candidate against him. Have they set a date for the election?

In knowing Ivy, I would truly hope some campaigns this last election who lost due to "absentee ballots" consider hiring her to investigate. If there's anyone who could get to the bottom of the voter fraud (my opinion), it's her.

Julio Robaina cooperating behind the sceneswith TREX pal Armando Gutierrez not only to unseat Alvarez but to save Natcaha from recall. Some Hialeah businesses have been pressured into not being involved in NSs recall drive.

We'll get rid of Alvarez but Julio's relations with the Armando and natacha plus Gimenes ties to Diaz De La Portilla'ws do not bode well for finding a replacement for Alvarez.

Saint Braman say it ain't so .... I will light a candle for you at the Church of the Scared lobbyist at the altar of Saint Raquelita the patron Saint of wayward communitty "activist."

Contributing to Rivera and carousing with Regalado and his henchmen, breaking your promise on commissioner recall and refusing to back those who have dared. Saint Braman you is looking more fallible by the minute the fall from grace can't be far away.

No one in this town is a saint, except my mom. So quit kidding yourselves readers. Politics always makes for strange bedfellows. It is the way the political ball bounces.
Braman is a baby who lost his lawsuits against the Marlins and now is on his recall vendetta. He isn't a great corporate citizen.
He isn't brilliant.
He is rich because he has been a good businessman.
I guess if he wants to run for mayor he could try to imitate Michael Bloomberg, however, he isn't as smart, nor as decent.

Braman has given $9,6000 to James DeMint and $10,000 to the Club for Growth. Not exactly a lot of good sense being used on his giving front. Get him off the pedestal.

When I hung up from the phone call last year with Mrs. Seijas, my rage later turned to a prayerful thought . . . "Lord, not I, but you shall take revenge."
