This should make the Miami Herald very happy! At least someone is paying for the
newspaper besides me, it appears to be Palmetto Bay Mayor Eugene Flinn. Meet the Flinn family pet, Ginger, she has coffee perking in the kitchen to go with her morning read. Smart dog! I heard Ginger also collects absentee ballots.
Vote for Eugene Flinn if you live in district 8, he has been endorsed by Eye on Miami and Ginger too. (don't see video? try this link - This is the first video I set to music!!).

If my dog were as philosophically ugly as Lynda Bell is, I would shave his butt and teach him to walk backwards.
Don't you just love dogs? They make you smile. I don't know that Ginger will make me vote for Gene.

drives? You can tell alot about a I person's ....errrr, I meant a dog's fiscal responsibility or frugality by their wheels.

At least the dog does not claim to have created 2000 jobs or have the ability as a commissioner to create more.
Ginger did not get to tell her story. Ginger is a pet adopted from the Friends Forever Rescue group. Palmetto Bay is home to many animal advocate groups along with FFR including Paws 4 You Rescue and the Cat Network. Mayor Flinn leads a volunteer community including many Humane Society and those who volunteer for the Miami Dade Animal Services. Many great things happen in this community and the County at large. It is nice to see a well placed animal in its forever home.
There are many FUNdraising events this month, Halloween related, including a dog walk starting at the Palmetto Bay Dog Park (thank you again Mayor Flinn, Village Council and Staff)to raise money. These groups need our help. We hope to see the Mayor at several, if not all the events (Mayor Flinn is a frequent participant).
Thank you Mayor Flinn and family for adopting and having your animal spayed and chipped.

They both have been touting jobs - jobs - jobs. That is all anyone is saying because that is what all you imbeciles are polling with. It is what you want to hear.
The County does set policies that can encourage job growth. They can also devise ways to bring certain types of business to our community.
How many they actually are personally responsible for creating is anyone's guess. The County's economic agency is the Beacon Council, and even they cannot say with certainty how many jobs their efforts "created" (although they certainly try) because so many variables are involved in the decision to locate or expand a business. The International Trade Commission got busted years ago by the Herald for pulling numbers of jobs, dollars, etc, created from their travel junkets completely out of their butt, so they just stopped publishing numbers.
It isn't unreasonable to talk about job creation, but it is unreasonable to announce that you created x gajillion jobs without any explanation as to what your role was or what kind of jobs or where or what policy you claim made it possible.
A bunch of chain stores opened up in Homestead (and more actually in Florida City) during the boom.
Is she claiming Walmart greeters and Lowes home center jobs? Cracker Barrel waitresses and Largo Honda car salesmen?
If so, those were the result of the explosion of housing starts in Homestead. The retail chains have experts that do demographic trend analysis to figure out where they're going to park a new megabox.
If she's claiming those as jobs she personally created, how can she also say that she was opposed to the building boom since that's the reason the big retailers moved in to begin with?
Of course, cognitive dissonance is no foreigner in the land of Bell.
What relevance does the cognitive dissonance of Bell have with Ginger? We have already written Bell off as a fibbing loser trying to rehab a pathetic political career at the expense of Miami-Dade County taxpayers. This post is about Ginger, who is much more intelligent and much more interesting than Bell. Ginger gets the paper. We are not sure what, if anything, Bell gets.

Just to point out, Walmart, Cracker Barrel and Honda are in Florida City. The new shopping center with Kohls almost became a disaster, and large companies delayed their openings for year+ because the bottom fell out during Ms. Bells reign for 6 years.
Speaking of Kohls: Homestead had nothing to do with the job hiring process. At the request of their HR people, I set-up hiring locations at Keys Gate County Club and at the Florida City Express. I did it without compensation as way to welcome a corporation that was filling a community need in Kendall and in Homestead.

Flinn is supported by Commissioner Sorenson. Bell is supported by Commissioner Seijas (who will serve as Bell's puppet master). Bell actually takes on Flinn for being supported by Sorenson who voted on the tax increase. Hello, so did Bell's benefactor and savior Seijas, who supported the tax increase.
