Lynda Bell's Campaign Report Looks Like a Move the Urban Development Boundary Line List. By Geniusofdespair

Candidate for County Commission District 8, Lynda Bell, picked up $33,580 this cycle and it contains many of the names you would expect to see on Vile, Natach Seijas's campaign report: Many are people pushing on the Urban Development Boundary. Silvio Cardoso (Investments at Village Park) also president of Builders Association of South Florida (BASF) gave $1,000 through two corporations. He was a city councilman in Hialeah in the 80's. Does land deals with the Hialeah Mayor.

Most of these donors own property on the wrong side of the UDB: There were quite a few GREC contributions. Augustin Herran is the president. Jose Machado, Esq. is registering agent. Arenal Enterprises is Manuel Herran (on board of US Century Bank as well), Armando Guerra, Jose Herran and Daniel Valdes. Sam LaBlue of Hurricane Waste Services, Inc also LBA member. Sendano's Institutional is managed by Developer Armando Guerra. Other contributions came from Krome Grove Investors, LLC. That is Edward Easton who is on this report multiple times (he is a very large property owner outside the UDB, with a mega-application on hold --called Parkland-- at the moment with about 1,000 acres). Torcise/Atlantic Civil Rock mining (Over $5,000 to Lynda Bell gave almost the same for the primary) and Florida Rock and Sand have land outside the UDB as well. They all gave to Lynda. Luis Garcia, president and founder of Adonel Concrete, the largest privately-owned concrete company in South Florida, LBA Board of Director, was named chairman of the communication committee of the Latin Builders Association (LBA) in 2007 -- he is also a Lynda donor.

Anyway, you get my drift on where Lynda Bell is getting her funds now: Multiple donations from LBA members and the movers and shakers of moving the UDB line. This is the kind of report I DO NOT LIKE to see -- an orgy of trouble in my view. Ed Easton alone scares the hell out of me. YOU MUST GO TO THIS LINK!!!

And is anyone really surprised? Most of those people were at her campaign party at Burger King headquarters in August.

If you haven't done so, please donate to Eugene Flinn's campaign, unless you want to have Dist. 8 paved all the way to and through the Everglades and more Rock mining too!

I love the photo of Lynda! She's actually nastier in person than the photo shows (well, that's when she's not trying to have Seijas buy her a commission seat!)

She is talking about the Miami Herald in that shot. I would like to know what "A" stands for under occupation in her report? Animal?

Everybody knows the havoc that Wayne Rosen, Al Cardenas and Miguel Diaz de la Portilla - among others - have brought to County and local government over the years - yet, if they support Flinn then, its not THAT troubling?

Really?

Wayne Rosen, Pinky Munz and others of questionable character donated to Lynda Bell before BUT unlike the current opposition, WE KNOW what Lynda did when these "good people" tried to get their way in Homestead.

We know what Lynda did, we don't know what Flinn's going to do.

Everyody complains about the large number of contributions from Torcise's rock mining to Lynda Bell. The Torcise's appear to be long-time supporters of Bell when she was Mayor. Yet, can anyone tell me what exactly did these people get in return for their "investment"?

I'm not sure whether Munz was a financial supporter of Lynda's or not but I do know that he did get a contract with Homestead and Bell took him and his company to court when Munz dug too deep and created an environmental mess - which, thanks to the new Homestead Council, we're all gonna have to pay for the cleanup, BTW.

I may not know all the details surrounding this but the more I "dig", the more I see someone who has stood up to people when caught wrongdoing.

I don't care who or what endorses who. I only care about who is going to keep my property taxes low (not happy at all that Katy voted to raise the millage) and bring real jobs down here to end this damm recession.

You must live in a cave. Do you really think the rats nest of commissioners are going to get you jobs? Are you out of your mind. Where are all these jobs going to come from?
Pick up the phone and make a reservation or get customer service and ask where the person on the other end is: Ireland or India
or anywhere not here. Do you think people are going to want to move there business here with such a crappy education system. Wake up. Keeping your taxes low is feeding into the crap and that is all you care about. Well, as long as you remain with one issue: You are part of the problem. You are a selfish person and that is why we have a crappy government.

Anonymous said...

Then why are BOTH Flinn and Bell pushing the jobs and taxes issues so much?

Geniusofdespair said...

Because people only care about themselves and that is what is polling well: Jobs and Taxes. Where are the jobs going to come from? Do these commissioners have a magic wand or something? All we have in Miami Dade Florida, is Agriculture, Tourism and Growth as industries. What are they going to do, open a chain of beauty salons, get gambling in gas stations?

Are you bilingual? Forget about an entry level job in Miami Dade if you aren't.

I guess you could work for the county if you need a job...that is the boondoggle still hiring.

The campaign contributors from the UDB crowd get together. They cut a deal, who supports who. Some support candidate blue, some support candidate red. All the bases covered when red or blue get elected. Don't matter, they all see the same color at the end of the day. Green.

Are they really? I thought that Alvarez imposed a hiring freeze AFTER he gave his closest advisors huge pay raises last year.

And if our education system is such crap, why then must we "kow tow" to the teachers' unions? My taxes are very high and I have trouble making ends meet. Why should we have to pay through the roof for such mediocrity? Reform the current system, then justify your budgets.

Why should we have to pay a Fire Chief or a Chief of police close to what the President receives each year?

If we "are all in this together" why must our tax dollars be spent in the same way as when the artificial building "boom" flooded the public coffers? If we are, indeed, "all in this together" - then ALL of us must share the burden - period!

Government MUST live within its means. If the current slate of elected officials can't do this, fine, we'll take them out and put people who will do this.

Based upon my experience, this photo captures the true essence and spirit of former (and never again to be) Mayor Bell

You are so damn unrealistic. Try to take Dorrin Rolle out of office. YOU CAN'T GET THEM OUT OF OFFICE...EVER!!

Go up higher in the food chain than the teachers. If the State doesn't fund schools what do you think you are going to get. We have some of the lowest funding of any state.

Genius is right. We don't have reporters uncovering the bad, we don't have politicians doing the good, we don't have people that care about anyone but themselves and their families. They keep voting in their commissioner because he/she keeps them happy to hell with everyone else. No one is thinking large anymore. We are a nation of small thinkers.

Anonymous said...

Commissioners, no matter how powerful they are, can keep only a small number of folks happy.

Are you saying that the large majority of the increadibly small number of citizens who care to vote are stupid?

Anonymous said...

If the state funds public schools, then why do we have to fund local school boards? THey rake in millions of dollars from the taxpayers.

Why must it take 2 levels of government to fund such mediocrity?

Geniusofdespair said...

Only 18% of voters that vote in the PRIMARY where our commissioners get elected.

About 70% of the 18% or About 12% of the voters -- the base they make happy -- are returning them to office, they go out and vote in numbers.

School State supplied money is from the lottery. That has been cut. What the State does provide is not enough to the urban areas.

The State of Florida mandates programs and policies for the Schools that they don't fund: unfunded mandates. The class size reduction amendment is not funded.

I really enjoy the comments from the Bell supporters. It's like reading some great fiction novel.

Records as Mayor, let's discuss:

Palmetto Bay Millage: 2.44
City of Homestead: 6.2917

White Elephants:

Palmetto Bay - None

City of Homestead - look east of the Turnpike at what used to be the Williams Potato Farms (Lynda approved a lot of these developments as a Council Member, than became reformed after her one term as a very bad tempered Mayor)
Who can forget the new City Hall - $5 million spent. Or, the Community Center which actually used impact fees to finish. It may have been on budget, but the budget was pugged with money that should have gone to infrastructure.

Parks:

Palmetto Bay - The Village of Parks, literally, with the crown Jewel of Deering, also part of the first real CERP project down here.

City of Homestead - A new dog park near the what used to be Homestead Hospital.

Environment:

Eugene Fill - the list can go on for a very long time.

Lynda Bell - no environmental policy at all during her time as Council or Mayor.

In regard to her financial report, for those of us who don't live in Homestead, and are regularly affected by applications moving to move the UDB, this is a huge problem, even though you Bell supporters are trying to make it all benign. Krome Gold? Are you kidding 1000 acres of land about a Mile from the Everglades to be rock mined! Right, Lynda stopped Redland Co. Wow, compared to what these others are doing, that's just a grain of salt. Her donor's are the whole rain maker shaker!

is anthony seijas of Lennar related to the commissioner?

Love it, love it, love it ! This shows us the true Lynda Bell not the other one who goes door to door playing the white gloved, anti develpment housewife who passed the moratorium...She talks the talk but cannot and will not walk the walk. She loves the power and perks too much not to get in bed with these guysto take their money for another shot at Trailer Trash Glory.

Anonymous said...

The Krome Gold alone w/the US Century Board, Ed Easton, et al.

I hope Florida City is paying attention. Lynda loved all that blasting from Atlantic Civil but she didn't live any where near the operation! She did approve it, so I just wonder if the Pinky Munz suit was to help the Torcise family.

Yep, Lynda certainly has a voting record and it's for special interest, not the people, or only the people she likes on any particular day! There wasn't an application in Homestead from Torcise she didn't like!

I can only imagine her & Seijas (if Bell gets elected) buddying up on Krome Gold/Parkland and of course, the Homestead Speedway DRI. The later two are on permanent deferral and Krome Gold is heading to the BCC with some changes to their original monster application.

And, for those who want to continue picking apart every dollar Eugene has raised, magnify it and say so and so is so bad - well, these people are far worse in my book (and more dangerous) with the influence they have in County Hall, to tear apart local Homestead/South Dade people who have little influence over county hall is just undermining Flinn's efforts and hurting his campaign.

So, if you want Bell to win, keep up the good work reporting on a PAC of $2000 versus this huge windfall to Bell - with much more coming in..

Geniusofdespair said...

Krome Gold is NOT Parkland. Nearby.

Well Lynda has teamed up with the Palmetto Bay wackos -- they are so anti government that they make the right side tea party folks look normal.

Lynda wants to make sure that she not only gives the shaft to the district, but Palmetto Bay as well.

Anonymous said...

Oh, that's right, the guy with the weird glasses who ran against Eugene for mayor must be teaming up with Bell. I hope Palmetto Bay knows better. These people are further to the right than the Tea Party! Palmetto Bay is pretty liberal, so I don't see a huge amount of people jumping on board the Bell campaign. Look at the primary reports..

What's with the initials under occupation on this report? Does A stand for A plus donor? What about AB - good Abs?

Anonymous said...

Flinn better get dialing! What good is Sorenson's endorsement if you don't have any money to communicate with the voters. This is embarrassing! Even Monestime raised more money than Flinn(over 12K).

Anonymous said...

The funny part is the scam Bell is running on these donors. Ask people in Homestead about how 2 faced she is. The first one Lynda will turn on if she wins will be VNS. Next will be the suckers who think her word is worth a crap.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps now the reasons for forming political committees such as "Citizens United for Protecting Our Community" are obvious.

Lynda Bell is a malevolent political influence that was forcibly expelled from Homestead in 2009. Bell has now joined herself to Seijas' political agenda and Seijas' ambition to become Chair of the County Commission.

Lynda Bell has been unmasked with this report. Her developer associations and her agenda have now been revealed. This is very serious business.

I think that running agrass roots campaign is realy hard. We have to be willing to give up some $$$ to get our canadidate in office.

I wonder who seijas is using for raisng money for this lady?

Anonymous said...

I think Seijas has someone in her office, or maybe she herself, picks up the phone and starts dialing for dollars, last anon.

I'm very worried about this. There's going to be buckets of more funds coming in to the Lynda coffers, Eugene won't have the same funds.

Lynda will most certainly run a nasty campaign in a few weeks, she's playing the Church lady now, but it won't last.

I truly hope the voters in Dist. 8 are paying attention and will donate to Eugene and support him at the polls. If not, she will win and she's going to make Rolle look like a genius and Seijas look nice..

Pesticide poison in drinking wells: Good News/Bad News/Good News

Good news, your grass won't get chinch bugs.

Bad news, those well water showers you are taking - not so great.

Good news, maybe your kids won't get head lice this year at school.

Seriously, all joking aside, in support for all the people in this county who have been drinking tainted well water - please vote for Flinn. Rock mining is a bad thing.

Anonymous said...

What does a candidate do, or is it, how does a candidate raise money when the grassroots people don't counter a bad candidate's money?

It seems to me that a candidate should take the money however it comes. If they don't get into office, they can't protect the grassroots effort. We can not have it both ways, we either put up the money or we shut our mouths when someone we don't like steps up to bat.

I am just saying, I don't understand the whole process. Even if the lord of the deep himself sent a check, it doesn't mean crud if someone who is sitting on the dais is not supporting their cause. Not everyone can be bought, but everyone DOES deserve a hearing.

Eugene has proven to be a good leader and listens to the constiuents. Lynda has proven to be a tyrant. I urge anyone who supports Lynda to look at the videos from the Public Hearings (or private/public) when she was Mayor

People in the incorporated areas are a little more secure with their government. As someone in the un incorporated are, I'm very worried. Our only local government is the Commission. And, we in un incorporated Miami Dade County - Dist. 8 should be strongly supporting Flinn. Otherwise, don't expect any represenation at all.

Monestime has not gotten one red penny from one lobbyist!!

Why is this not reported??

Anonymous said...

Bell will win, Bell will not vote to move the UDB and Flinn's secrets will be exposed. So long, Gene.

Anonymous said...

Flinn has no secrets, and if Bell comes up with any at the last minute, it will be a lie, and it will not work any better than that junk with Cody worked last time.
