See my post earlier today on the sign cover-up on Pensacola Beach. What is going on? You can't just bury the tar balls. Don't see video, hit this link.

i guess we don't dig our toes or bury ourselves in the sand anymore up there.

Sounds like a coverup to me. They call Cocoa Beach that name because the sand is cocoa color. Maybe the Panhandles pure white sandy beach will forever be called Rust Beach for the orange color the sand color will absorb/dye from the oil spill washing up. Or how about Sticky Beach for the tar?

This is all over the news. What coverup?

This is as much of a coverup as the Kennedy assassination was to Warren Report supporters.

They are covering up the tar balls rather than removing them. They raked the area, watch the video David.

I don't know about Cocoa Beach being cocoa colored... when I was there last, the sand was just powdery white. It's named Cocoa Beach after the inland settlement of Cocoa, which predated it.

A Google Earth overview snapped in late 2007 shows the beach white, with a bit of seaweed staining at the water line.
