And this is why more people need to get involved with the EAR process going on! It's the check up on our master plan. This video makes me so sick because it's so typical of the BS thrown out everytime the UDB comes up without an real fact. They hire enough statistical people to ge the figure they want, ignoring common sense and staff.

Barf!

Scroll down to see Commissioner Joe in action: who needs facts when you have to get in your car and drive to Lowes?

We can not have enough housing in place to accomodate everybody who gets tired of shoveling snow up north. We live on a peninsula which really should be considered an island based on our surroundings and precious resourses. We only have so much room. We are already causing irreversible harm to our quality of life. Wake up politicians. Tell these people to find other places to redevelope and improve what we already have that is not working.

Even when these "experts" are proven wrong, they always find a way to make a case for the next bad application. In the real world they would be laughed off the podium for all the "sky is falling predictions" that went so wrong. People like Andy, Sweetapple and Curtis are embarasments to their professions.

On this point, some clarification. They are paid to represent their clients. They are paid to come up with these arguments and positions. That's how they support their families. What was so objectionable about the last round of CDMP hearings, was how they trashed professional planning staff. It just got so out of control, and the elected officials and county manager let them have at it. Not a new phenomenon, but even the best planners have had a very tough time in Miami-Dade (and Florida) because they have to fight not just the lobbyists but the political interference by commissioners like Seijas who mistakenly believe that their main purpose is to do what their big campaign collectors and contributors want.

I can't wait to see what the unreformable majority, especially those vying for Mayor, do tomorrow!
