Sugar Land Deal Still-A-Tickin'. By Geniusofdespair

The vote was unanimous. The South Florida Water Management District Board agreed today to extend the sugar land deal deadline. Creepy-handsome (yes that is a category) Representative Erik Fresen was leading the charge, trying to kill the deal from within the legislature, I would suppose to make Governor Crist look bad and his pal (another creepy-handsome guy) Rubio look good. The Herald said:

The deal, downsized twice since Crist unveiled it 20 months ago after eight months of private negotiations with the sugar giant, has been under siege from rival grower Florida Crystals, the Miccosukee Tribe and state lawmakers.

Let's not forget Kendrick Meek Miami Herald. Oddly, there was an Arab News Channel at the SFWMD meeting. And, speaking of Erik Fresen, whatever happened to his foreclosure? His house was scheduled to be sold on March 3rd according to court papers filed Aug. 25th.

As usual the private sector types take advantage from the dumber public sector stiffs.

Hmmm. Nice pick up. Wonder if Erik got a sweet deal.
