Sierra Club: Tell Palm Beach County Commission that Florida Crystal's Inland Port Empire is a Loser ... by gimleteye

The following is from Sierra Club: On Thursday, December 17, the Port of Palm Beach will decide if an “Inland Port” should be built on a site owned by Florida Crystals that the State of Florida calls “incompatible with Everglades Restoration.” The massive container transshipment facility would be sited in the middle of sugar fields between Lake Okeechobee and the Everglades, converting the center of this sensitive agricultural area into an industrial hub.

Email the Port of Palm Beach Commissioners today and tell them not to put the cart before the horse. Tell them to reject the Florida Crystals site and hold off on development until Everglades Restoration plans have been drawn.

Vice Chairman Blair Ciklin
