I heard from two sources that Spence Jones was facing more legal troubles and a possible removal. Also in the rumor pipeline was that Angel Gonzales was retiring in the next couple of days. Neither is confirmed.
Not a rumor anymore, John Timoney retired today as police chief.

Has anyone heard the stories about Spence-Jones's husband getting arrested? Several times?
I don't understand this concept of rumors as it relates to criminal arrests of elected officials. I seems to me, in the past, people got arrested, and the press found out after the fact. Is it done to pressure the elected official into a deal? Talking and giving up other individuals involved in criminal wrong-doing? To put the person on notice that they are being watched and investigated? To put a cloud over their heads when there is not enough for an arrest? What purpose does it serve and why is this technique used?
