Neisan Kasden said he likes Miami 21 but he really hates it. A client paid him to get all its properties removed from the proposed zoning scam and of course he did.
Previous commenter has no idea what s/he is talking about. The Miami Worldcenter special district IS Miami 21. The developer believed in stricter urban design requirements so much that he wanted Miami 21 to apply to his properties even if it failed in the rest of the city.
Miami World Center promoters took a few items from Miami 21 that helped to make glossy photos. Then Miami World Center lost a $18 mil deposit on properties when it failed to close on sites it implied it already owned.
Now Miami World Center owns a few broken down vacant lots. Someone should tell them to be a good neighbor and clean up its vacant lots. Broken fences, weeds, dirt and cracked asphalt make for poor photo opportunities.
It goes to show you that Joe Sanchez can't think for himself. If the problem was the 35 ft. height limit that Marc Sarnoff wanted, why didn't he have a discussion about it? Is there more to this? Did one of the lobbyist against Miami 21 whisper in his ear no money from us if you vote for it?
Miami World Center? Anyone drive north of downtown lately. Many of the blighted disgusting vacant lots are owned by the speculators Miami World Center. They hate Miami 21.
