I just got my credit report. My name, according to them, is spelled with all consonants with one vowel at the end, impossible spelling in any language and more impossible to pronounce. Not even the first letter is right.
They won't fix it. They said I have to call ALL my creditors and have them fix it because they are reporting this name even though I never got a bill with this spelling. Do I need to do this? I guess I will live with this new name, I am tired of trying to straighten things out with people from across the globe using a script. The guy on the phone said the same thing 20 different ways. This is why I thank God for this blog. I now am not alone in my frustration. SEE OUTCOME: Transunion fixes problem.

I cannot stomach fighting the system any longer either, I am with you on that. I will not call those help lines anymore and circle the problem for an hour of my day.
So true. "Help" lines are a total disaster. You should see what Aetna, my health care provider puts me through. It's pathetic. Single payer health care system! PLEASE!
The credit reports said some things about me that were not even close to correct. They even had me living in another state! It was too tough to correct so I said the hell with them and never contact them any more.
I pulled the three credit reports last year. There was so much erronious reporting, I paid someone to deal with them. They still never got fixed and my FICO (there's nothing "F"air about it) is still in the toilet. On the upside, no one will want to steal my identity for credit lines.
I haven't looked at my FICO lately. I know what it is, but I have no idea how it got there.
Actually, two years ago my credit report showed me having active credit accounts with companies that have been closed for years (Jordan Marsh and J Byrons). I have closed some other accounts in the past: Target, Bloomies, Office Depot, Burdines, Macy*s among others, so I guess my credit went down the tubes for making a good decision for myself.
Then AMEX came along this year to lower my credit line on my revolving account (one that was current and was at about 50% paid off) and gave me limits where I had none. That certainly hasn't helped my credit history. Particularly since AMEX ran my credit history and then told me they didn't like me having balances (hmmm, I thought they made money off my balances); they didn't like any pass-due anything AND best of all, they didn't like my mortgage company.
Hello? My mortgage company? They didn't like my mortgage company? Well. I don't like AMEX either, but I am stuck with them till the money Gods rain on me. I don't see that happening.

I applied for a business credit card and was decline due to my Trans Union file, the others were fine. I attempted for two weeks to get a copy of my file which I am entitled to by law, never got it. I attempted to buy one and was told it was froze to me and I had to call Celeste in the FRAUD Dept.,
after about 10 minutes of this smart-mouth idiot telling me I lived places I never lived and used names I never used and then calling me a bum and a liar I let this idiot have it and told her what I thought of HER! Now this sulled up idiot is having a hissy fit and has froze my file, not a security freeze someone checking my credit will still get Trans Unions screwed up file I just can't get. This idiot also is requesting insane forms of proving my identity like an earning report from Social Security who by the way told me it's illegal to request or use that form to prove identity. This FOOL is apparently going to show me who is boss and to HELL with things like Federal Law, someone's reputation or business or just being a decent human being and apparently no one at Trans Union give two damns about it. So I am suing, my credit union has removed use of trans union, my bank as well, my best friend who is one of the largest car dealers in the South has ordered them removed from his businesses and anyone else I can convince these are shitty, shitty people.AVOID TRANS UNION AT ALL COST...
