The County Commission's Cop-Chauffeurs. By Geniusofdespair

Check out Jim Morin's cartoon today, in the Miami Herald, poking fun at the use and abuse of Miami Dade County sergeants-at-arms as chauffers. Give Commission Chair Moss a star for putting a stop to this abuse, the cost for which was coming out of our hard earned tax dollars.

Pepe Diaz said he needs the security. He needs protection at a Fontainebleau Hotel Gala? From who? Most people wouldn't recognize him if he fell on top of them and those that would recognize him are too busy kissing his ass to harm him.

the only thing Pepe Diaz needs protection from is a buffet table...how someone with gastric bypass surgery can ballon up again is beyond me...

I wonder what is behind the guilt driving Pepe to eat so much?

This is not only in the County. The City Commissioner's all have police escort and their own Sergent of Arms.
Except one.
Regalado.

did you catch the part in the article where a couple of commissioners state they had to have a driver because they were on medication! how in the world can you do your job if you can't think clearly enough to drive due to meds...oh right, it's Miami-Dade - who needs to think when all they do is hold their hands out palms up!!!!

What about Rhenquist and drug use? It was great having the head of the Supreme Court on prescription drugs. Sally Heyman did have a serious back injury. I think you can vote stoned, but driving stoned is frowned upon.

To third anon: Regalado is still paying for all the gasoline he stole several years ago. And he has a retired cop (one who was involved and indicted in killing Arthur Mcduffie and inciting the Mcduffie riots) working for him who drives him around.

they will kick you out of the building for complaining said...

what about the mayors? alvarez has had 3 drivers and penelas must have as well. they all share the same parking area, which has it own guard.

I need a driver. I spend two hours in traffic a day. That's what I get for living just east of the alligators. My bad.

Is it true a City of Miami policeman gets paid $200,000 or more just to drive Manny Diaz to ribbon cuttings and to campaign events?
