I saw the Miami Herald Article about the Coral Gables Budget Shortfall.
Looks like Pat Salerno was a good choice.
Does it make us want to change our opinion on the Coral Gables election? Hell, No! Gonzalo Sanabria was wrong for Coral Gables and pretty much anything else in Miami Dade County. Period.
This is not the last City that is going to have to tighten it's belt. In fact, it should be noted that Moody's put Florida's general obligation credit rating on its watchlist for downgrade according to the South Florida Business Journal. Shit is hitting the fan.

Do you know if Miami Dade is heading on Moody's watch list? If they downgrade from where they are now, the funding for the Staduim could be in jeopardy? (wouldn't that be a shame? NOT)
Can't wait to see what happens to federal tax revenues for 2008 after a trillion and a half in stock market losses... won't that be a surprise.
Coral Gables Manager Pat Salerno has sure jumped into the thick of it, hasn't he? It is going to be interesting to see just how bad it gets in the Gables before it begins to get better. And yes, the Gables did make the right choice in electing Cabrera and Anderson to new terms. They will have to figure out how to work together with their colleagues to solve these financial woes.
