Sarah Palin's Decision Chart: After the Water Broke. By Geniusofdespair

Gimleteye was writing about the election mostly. I wasn't that interested in posting about the presidential election till the Republicans put a "creationist" a heartbeat away from the presidency. I am energized now. There is more at stake.

This is from the Dallas Morning News for your doubters (9/4/2008) and Alaska News Station KTUU Channel 2 NBC (April 18, 2008):

Sarah Palin, broken water and almost giving birth in Dallas

Turns out that in April, presumptive Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin almost had an extended stay in the Dallas area where she was set to speak at a Republican Governors Association conference on energy.

And then, during the conference, the very pregnant Palin's water broke. Instead of having her baby, Trig, in a Dallas hospital, she reportedly boarded a commercial flight and headed back to Alaska where she later gave birth.

It's a story that's flown very much under the radar here at Dallas City Hall until today.

After today's City Council meeting, several officials, speaking on background, expressed shock at the news. Let's just say they're going to watch her speech tonight at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., with great interest.

Alaska News Station KTUU Channel 2 NBC April 18, 2008:
"Just yesterday, Palin was in Texas at a forum on energy with Texas Gov. Rick Perry and executives from four other states.

Palin was asked at the forum whether or not she would accept an offer by Republican presidential candidate John McCain to share the national ticket as vice presidential nominee.

She said she would accept, according to reports from a Texas newspaper.

The governor's water broke during the energy conference but she stayed and gave a 30-minute speech before boarding an Alaska Airlines plane home to deliver the baby."

Clever. I wonder what was going through her mind on the plane?

I would have gone to the hospital in Texas where her water broke.

Is that for real?????

Somehow I just don't buy that scenario. She would have to really be a freak of nature to,after having FOUR other children , be able to NOT give birth on the plane, in the car etc.
(Maybe I'm a cynic but I have seen waay too many multipara women give birth in cars, on front steps etc, when their water broke and woosh there was a baby.)

ha, great chart! and yes, that's even her version of what happened.

I'd be pissed if I was on that flight, selfish move that could have affected everyone on the plane.

Fortunately for her, Alaska Airlines is one of the few airlines without a policy regarding late term pregnancies.

Sorry to say this, but if this scenario actually happened, (knowing that she knew the baby was diagnosed with Down's Syndrome), it makes me wonder if she was not wishing for an unsucceful delivery.
Her actions seemed to do everything that would indeed jeopardize the safe delivery of the child.
