Reading the Rasmussen summary today, I see two key shifts:
1) Enthusiasm (I can attest to that) 2)Women
It looks like McCain is getting a bounce. His gender gap has been cut in half & still 1/3 of the poll does not take into account Mrs. Palin's speech on Wednesday.
On another front, the AP reports that Barack Obama is pulling all his resources out of red states and appears to be no longer contesting states that he thought would alter the electoral map.
The strategy is to now put his resources into PA, MI and OH. If he loses PA he is toast. (one BHO campaign staffer characterized PA & MI as "iffy")Don't know about Florida, but this state was not mentioned as far as the Obama campaign focus.
If McCain/Palin just hold onto all the Red States in 2004 & Ohio then it will be 4 more years of "failed" Republican policies.
While I fear the civil unrest that will be ginned up, I am comforted in knowing that therapists will be busy trying to console the Left that will become completely unglued.
Not unglued: Energized. Palin is not just energizing the Pubs she is also energizing the people who oppose the views of the conserative right wing: democrats and many independents. Now we have a completely polarized election: Yet again. Sad really.
