Val Screen Running Against Edmonson: Looking Better and Better by Geniusofdespair

After yesterdays vote on the Urban Development Boundary, I am again looking to replace Audrey Edmonson with a candidate with a brain. Audrey is too dumb (or crooked) to realize the East-West corridor replacing the North-South is a given if she keeps approving developments out West. Maybe someone should be found that really can see the big picture for her inner-city district. All Audrey can muster is Natacha Seijas orchestrated votes. The puppet master strikes again. And, Audrey's campaign report is loaded with dough from the Brown's (one of the applicants to move the line). However, it is not that campaign money I worry about as much as the "brown bag" dough we can't see.
P.S. Val certainly is easy on the eyes.

You are right about one thing: She sure is easy on the eyes compared to Audrey Edmonson.

The important question: can she be independent of the politics of resignation that Audrey represents?

Can she be independent of Meek/Carey Schuler power? For some reason the powerful black politicians have to be beholden to the old guard to earn their stripes.

If you know Val, you know that she is about as independent as they come. She tells it like she sees it, no matter what anyone else says or thinks. I for one would love to see her on the BCC.

that photo bears absolutely no resemblence to her.

I went to school with her. She was not particularly bright, but a good leader for her black student organization. Quite militant on race issues. I did not see her interact with white or hispanic students outside the classroom. She carried a sour look on her face much of the time and seemed to have a chip on her shoulder.

Sour look? Sounds like me...I like her already. I want to hear if someone has something good to say about Edmonson...who in her district has something to say about her?

i doubt there is anyone in this county more closely tied to the king of corruption art teele than val screen. she was his favorite staffer and she lovingly describes him as her mentor.

audrey edmondson needs to go, but i think we can do a lot better than art teele part 2, cant we?

okay, let's hear about Edmonson.

Sounds like Val has struck some nerves by her bold step forward. Cum laude is brighter than most but even if she were a C student, she is sharper asleep than Edmonson is awake.

Is she smart enough to read between the lines of what the attorney for Lowes acutually said? If a charter school can't/does not buy the property for a school and the school board is not interested the property will be used for some "intsitutional" use. What a great place for a prison.

Michelle Spence Jones was the last person you said was "easy on the eyes". Look where it got her.

There is nothing pretty about the Michelle Spence Jones drama and it has zero to do with making changes at the County Commission. It's too bad that the string of lazy/crooked politicians make people assume everyone who seeks election is lazy/crooked. Crooks/cronies eventually get caught and voters may finally wake up. You go Val!

Val Screen has been a part of the political scene for more than a dozen years. She is a staple at every black political gathering. So which crooked black politician has she ever criticized or denounced? Teele? Range? Burke? Carey-Shuler? Spence-Jones? Rolle? Jordan? Meek? Not only does she not mention her experience as Teele's county commission staff member on her website (quite deceptive, wouldn't you say?), I don't see anything on her website where she distances herself from any of the long line of crooked politicians that have claimed to serve Miami's black community.

All I can say is, be careful what you wish for. The warning signs are all there.

Edmonson would love that for a white person to run. She'd probably even pay to recruit somebody to do just that. Anglos don't have the numbers to win that seat and would stir deeper race-based voting. Try directing your corruption outrage at Kathy Rundle who ought to arrest them all ASAP.
