Weekend Chore: What to write about and who is going to slice my strawberries? by Geniusofdespair

I wake up each Sunday optimistic there will be something to write about in the Miami Herald. No such luck today. There was one interesting letter to the editor but I can’t find it on line. The story about the legislature: snooze. Monica Hatacher on fix the mortgage mess: I say it will just get messier if the government gets involved, the wrong people will get the help. Maybe the market has to play out with this one.

I went to the screening of the Arthur Teele story yesterday (City of Miami Commissioner who killed himself in the Miami Herald lobby). Not much to write about there. It has all been said. Jim DeFede was there looking much thinner. And, Katy Sorenson was also there, the first time I have seen her since her surgery. Talked to CEO of Knight Foundation, Alberto Ibarquen (mistook him for Eduardo Padron, just knew he looked familiar).

Spouse was sick this morning, I had to slice my own strawberries. Chores like this put me in touch with bad thoughts. I was thinking as I sliced: “What if my future is being alone, slicing my own strawberries FOREVER.” I thought about getting a dog (what kind, could it slice strawberries) before I pushed the thoughts away. Have you seen the movie "Across the Universe" (logo above)? Very good -- Stawberry Fields Forever-- and geat soundtrack!

I was looking up a property I saw for sale just now, $600,000 an Acre (High??). It gave the acreage and the address but I couldn’t find it. I did find a large piece nearby that sold for $90,000 an acre in 2001.

Today at 5 there is a Sierra Club Florida "do or die" call (with National) for all Sierra members in Florida. Will have to do that just to goad the National group a bit and to see what a call with hundreds of people on it could be like. (Bummer, I was just told they limit the call to 40 people).

This just hasn’t been a good day so far. How is your day going? Off to the Ikea store perhaps?

Saw Across the Universe I also highly recommend it.

I have been to the IKEA store. It is not a place to go on weekends. You would think people would have better things to do with their time.

Teele documentary was excellent. Confirmed how smart Teele was. And it confirmed Teele was stealing money intended to help poor black people.
