Posting on Weekends: A Chore. By Geniusofdespair

Gimleteye and I (that is awkward) have not missed a day since we started but I am beginning to think posting on weekend is a waste of time. I did a lot of research for my Saturday post on the elections. When Sunday comes, I always figure there might be something in the paper, but the Miami Herald disappoints. I know there is that cruise ship dumping story...doesn't excite me. I am left with nothing today. I was looking for an article on Councilwoman Nancy Simon, Miami Lakes: nothing. I couldn't even find anything in the God-awful Neighbors section of the Herald.
I did find this interesting photo in Elena Carpenter's "Miami Monthly" of the Ziff's and Commissioners Barbara Jordan and Sally Heyman at the Arsht renaming ceremony at the Performing Arts Center. The photo got me thinking: hmm. For instance, look at Dolores Ziff's body language.

Are you surprised? Simon has gone after every reporter that dared mention anything about her illegal activities. Maybe she maintains good friends within The Miami Herald. The only TV reporter that touched the subject is Carmel Cafiero and Simon has filed a restraining order against her.

Do you remember the Seijas recall? Fernandez-Rundle our State Attorney went full force against members of the recall committee for over one year. Were we intimidated? Of course, we don't have the protection and money to spend on legal defense as Channel 7
I bet you the SAO investigation of Simon will quietly fade away as have many other well-connected developers and friends of the MD commissioners.

Don't stop your weekend postings, a lot of us read them.

Right now because of the hours I'm working I mostly have to post on the weekends. But I'm not posting that much during the week so I usually do a recap. If I had to go by just what gets published on the weekends, I'd be in trouble!

I think this is a pretty significant coverage in the Miami Herald Neighbors Section

You never see a nuanced article about development and resistance like this.
