Miami-Dade County Campaign Reports and Political Action Committees by Geniusofdespair

There is a new Political Action Committee in town! It is called Black Americans for Accountability in Government. According to the October 15th filing documents Perry Howard is the Treasurer and Gary Beasley is an officer. I wonder what this group will be doing? I want to know! They do seem to be using addresses in Rolle’s district. Could that be an accurate title? Will they really be doing some good? Most PAC's have nice sounding names but can have sinister goals.

I looked at Audrey Edmonson campaign report. Coincidentally, there were contributions from Juan Mayol, attorney for Lowe’s Big Box Home Store which is trying to move the Urban Development Boundary. And there were a lot of “Brown” contributions. They were another one of the applicants trying to move the UDB line. Audrey voted in favor of both.

Uber Lobbyist "white fish supplier" Ron Book seems to be a big contributor to County Commissioner Carlos Gimenez. Remember there is a $500 limit. Hit on graphic above so you can see how to be a big shot contributor and give $3,000: It’s a family affair!

I didn’t see any “Brown’s” on Gimenez but I did see Ferro Development. I believe they might be an applicant to move the UDB but I am too lazy to do the digging since Gimenez voted against it. I did see Michael Swerdlow, developer of Biscayne Landing on Gimenez’s list. Swerdlow sure bailed out on Biscayne Landing at the right time. Wonder what he is up to?

Maybe the accountability the Black Americans are interested in is to make sure that the commissioners are paid correctly their kickbacks. I don't believe for one second that their main interest is to defend the rights of the homeless in their community, displaced by the greed and dishonesty of the buddies of and the complicity of some Dade County commissioners.

It seems that weird that Book would let them bundle those checks... If it were me, I would be dribbling them into the pot.

They can't dribble them...they want to make their statements big and flashy. They don't care that it annoys the public.

The Game Show Jeopardy will be looking for contestants in the South Florida area on Saturday Jan. 12th, from 10-noon at Gulfstream Park.

Hope to see you there.

Not good at jeopardy not a moderate...my brain functions at a slower pace but glad you will be going! By the way, did you see the outfall pipe video by DeFede? I noticed you didn't coment there.

Yes I saw it, and yes I am a diver.

However, I also go to the bathroom, and contributing to the need to get rid of waste.

I also understand the high price that comes with these reuse projects and know it is going to take a while before we can realisticlly (sp?) stop using these outflow pipes.

There has to be better treatment of waste. And, the reason there isn't: Because Natacha was in charge of it for so many years dragging her feet. We should be years ahead of where we are now.

Savy political contributors from every segment of the political spectrum have utilized the strategy that is in play here. There are contribution limits, however, they are limited to the individual, corporation and PAC. If you have more than one individual, corporation and/or PAC, you can cut a seperate check, and send it in legally. No matter what side you may be on, this is the way that it is done. You want to correct the problem, then enact real public financing legislation. Well, actually, that creates a whole new set of problems. Who deserves the financing, who doesn't? How much is enough? If you take public financing, are you going to be limited in ways that could jeapordize your chances?

All this being said, it is not the best system, but, with the reporting requirements, I think we have about the best we are going to get.
