Former Congresswoman Carrie Meek, not quite content to sully her own name with her lobbying activities (biotech park/Stackhouse etc.) should know better than to attack a major Newspaper that has been monitoring her questionable lobbying activities. Here is why you should keep a low profile Carrie: Your congressman son, Kendrick, is going to get caught in the crossfire. And, the Newspaper will win.
To make things worse, Carrie put her tattered reputation at risk, yet again, by attending a rally to support disqualified contender in the Eyeonmiami beauty contest. City Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones is under investigation on various charges. If they prove to be true, you will appear the fool Carrie Meek. That is why we disqualified her from our beauty contest, there was a cloud over the gal and we didn't want to be pegged as fools.

Unfortunately Ms. Meek has already sullied her reputation beyond redemption. Maybe she thinks she can't do it any more harm or maybe she is on the take. I lost all respect for her when she became a shill for Lennar's building in wetlands. On the radio she read her same script over and over (affordable housing) and appeared not very coherent. Such a shmae for a person respected by so many for her long service. I agree with GoD, hang it up Carrie maybe you can still keep some remanent of respect.
She should be ashamed of herself, once she left office she turned into another person. I used to like her so much.
And she should learn you don't start battles with people who buy ink by the barrel. This is gonna be a good one. I don't think McClatchy cares about Carey Meek, Knight Ridder may have, but McClatchy will go after her big time.
Carrie Meek should be embarrassed. She takes money from rock miners and anyone else who needs a well known black person to give up their ethics to push another destructive idea. With Carrie Meek it is anything for a dollar.
Who can forget the sleazy way she resigned her congressional seat so only her young uneducated son Kendrick could replace her? God forbid she allow an election?
And many remember Jose Cancela paid her $50,000 to endorse his mayor ambitions and once his check cleared she never showed up again.
And now shilling for Spence-Jones? Spence-Jones who is frailing under the weight of four investigations? Election fraud?
Vote selling? Extortion? Shall we go on?
Carrie Meek should stay retired and be happy with her multiple taxpayer funded pension checks.
Do you all think that anyone at the Herald did anything more than shrugged their shoulders, rolled their eyes, and then laughed at the comment?
the comment is beneath someone of her stature, so she should STAY OUT OF THE LIME LIGHT to not further embarrass herself and her community.
and to prove how out of touch some community leaders are, the city of North Miami is hosting a Town Hall on Jan 15 re the tax referendum and guess who's an invitied speaker! none other than Ms Meek..ugh. This could be flipped into an opportunity for lots of folks to show up and ask Meek some rather pointed questions..

Carrie Meek is an expert on sucking the taxpayers money out of their wallets and into her chubby fingers. She could be considered an expert on "getting hers" at the expense of the taxpayers. Wonder what she will say? I predict she will say..."Instead of writing checks to the Internal Revenue Service write your checks to me..."

Let Carrie Meek get her money from the vile rock miners or the Latin Builder hazardous waste dumpers... or from other contributors to Spence-Jones's legal defense fund.
But please no more abuse of the taxpayers.
Carrie Meek hasn't changed. She is as dumb as ever. She did learn how to fleece corporate interests to represent them in "her" community.
Carrie, enjoy the money while you can. Your reputation couldn't go much lower.
People keep saying "her community"...this lady does NOT represent us! especially the younger generation of African-American Miami-Dade residents, she's all about herself! Change of the guard is necessary like...yesterday if she is still getting paid to speak about nothing!
