Hmmm...

This is all connected in a strange way. The culture of Miami is geared towards the moment and not the future, where corruption is justified by saying "everyone is guilty so no one is to blame" and then trying to find the quickest route to a dollar. And frankly, what more could anyone ask for when trying to fix a failed education system than massive tax cuts, striking at the core of the education system's funding.

Take note the School Board has not refunded any of the money that went unspent educating those who dropped out.
As far as the tax cuts already everyone is out there saying fire, police and education will be the targets. No they won't County Commission is set to approve slot machines in Miami-Dade with 50% going to education.
If they were to ever cut fire and police, they might as well cut their own throats. That is a scare tactic being used as a negotiating weapon.
Cities and municipalities are sending all types of folks to lobby against the property tax reform measures, they would never agree that they are wasteful. I was on NW 7th Street last Thursday, I saw five white county sedans giving people rides to the doctor's office, shopping, etc...etc. This is where they need to cut.

NO members of the elite are interested in education because they all send their kids to Ransom or others at over 20K a year and the middle classes have to focus on finding good affordable private schooling. The poor.... well no cares about their schooling except their overworked and under paid parents and the students know it because it shows in their attention getting behavior, i.e. crime and lack of scholarship.

That my friends, is how the plan goes to make sure that the slot machine vote goes the way of the lobbyists.
The commission will "allow us" to save our children and our neighborhoods by voting for gambling.
Boy, between the state and county tax relief issues, the whole thing is coming together nicely for the gambling industry....
Even Codina said that the lottery was just a tax on the poor and stupid.
