The Inane Republican debate yesterday by Geniusofdespair

I know now that some Republicans running for President don't believe in evolution. I don't care.* Most of them want to overturn Roe v. Wade. Don't care. All of them are big on family values. I don't care.** The candidates all are anti abortion except Guiliani who is anti abortion personally but doesn't want to impose his personal disdain on the rest of us. Again, don't care. All this crap is just a smoke screen to take you off the one real issue at hand.

Republicans hear this: I, as an independent, am only interested in one issue:

How the hell are you going to get us out of the occupation of a country in civil war? A war, I might add, that you started based on lies, and why are you spending all of our money on it?

Address the real issue. Guns gays and God is not going to cut it this time around. Karl Rove's spin has finally cycled.

*Ignorant though.
** This is the Mother of Non Issues.

The next president as chief executive has a litany of important issues that need to be addressed. Some of these issues are; long term planning for energy, environmental health, a global economy that doesn't undermine loss of many jobs here that actually pay enough to live on, importing much more than we export, and the government spending us into bankrupcy. Both parties, but especially the Republicans, did not seem to understand or focus on many of the real issues facing the county.

Blame it on the format of the debate and the questions posed by the general public. The moderator concentrated on 3-5 of the candidates that were allowed responses past their allotted time, while others, like Tancredo, weren't even allowed to finish a sentence. Illegal immigration was brushed off, this being a very important subject.

Most of the questions were to force the candidates to criticize and speak bad of President Bush. Those that expected the candidates to present their plan for our exit from Iraq in 30 seconds or less, are living in the land of Oz!

point taken. But then I am living in the land of Oz: This is Miami.

However anon, looking at it another way, they can distill complex issues like Gay rights to 30 seconds and budget deficits, etc. So why not everything? We all know they are good Christians now who want to focus on family values, but that is not enough for me.

What happened to the Republican values of old: less government and less spending?

Ron Paul is a republican, and he DID NOT vote for the Iraq war.

"What happened to the Republican values of old: less government and less spending?"
ron paul IS just that.

He is gaining popularity in all the polls but he is being blacked out by the main stream media.

Ron Paul is worth looking into.

Interesting Amy I went to your link.

I see he is anti abortion...the rest wasn't bad. I am not a one issue person...will give him a look.
