Of the 43 presidents, only one has as many syllables in his name as Giuliani: Eisenhower. And there has never been a four syllable president after a one syllable. Pretty bad odds. Two syllables have the best chance to win: there have been 23 presidents with two. Also, the name Giuliani presents a major spelling problem. Only Franklin Pierce had the two vowel, which one comes first, dilemma.

the multiple syllables seems to be a real liability...not just here in the presidency, but in life everywhere.
Fascinating stuff LOL. But looking at it another way, these presidents all defeated principal opponents with LESS syllables in their surnames: Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Jackson, Taylor, Buchanan, Garfield, Cleveland, Harrison, McKinley, Wilson, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Carter and Clinton.
However, there comes a point when an extra syllable becomes a liability. I think that 2 is the magic number and 3 and 1 is acceptable by the American people. But 4 with a name no one can spell...nope, will never happen.
