Turnout was very good in Aventura and North Miami where I was collecting signatures for the Hometown Democracy Petition. I was there from 10:30 till 3pm.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony spent their whole lives trying to get women the right to vote. They died without getting women the vote. What man would stick with one issue for about fifty years? Anyway, I am honoring them today for their perseverance. Check out Stanton's Solitude of Self.
I long ago dated a fan of Susan B., I personally prefer Liz.

Well I was in Miami Beach most of the day and it was slow. On Sunday however, MB Comm. Candidate Michael Gongora's dad threatened to beat up Deede Weithorn's husband Mark. Now that was exciting.
Today, much of the nation has spoken and the people have said let's get the hell out of Iraq.
In South Florida, it seems that the reaction is one of taking back much of what has been lost...competitive races that lead to some upsets and maybe some change.
Whoever thought of term limits in this state and than voted on it have not thought of the bigger consequenses--which are that lobbyists and bureacrats control too much. And they are accountable to no one. If we had true campaign finance reform, every election would be a true term limit.
