Miami Dolphins Kneel ... by gimleteye

I don’t care about the culture of the NFL. I DO care about free speech in America.

I don’t care about Donald Trump. I DO care that his presidency is a dog whistle to racism and Alt R extremism and that he is eroding fundamental American values.

I don’t care about billionaire NFL team owners. I do care that racial discrimination tears at our social fabric, bearing most heavily on young African American men.

I don’t care that NFL players have chosen to protest by taking a knee. I DO care that freedom of speech is protected.

In November: VOTE.

Obama ruined your party. Recovery won't happen for a while.

Our Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem should be left out of politics. A total disrespect to this nation, the men and women who sacrificed so much for all of us to live in freedom, to the wrongs that to this day we work to correct, etc.

You kneel only to God.

Kneeling during our National Anthem is total disrespect and some us do not support is.

I am Cuban Immigrant who came to this country as a baby. Thank GOD that I had parents who taught us to love and respect this country, with all it's flaws, it is still OUR country! We adopted it, we love it and we will defend it.

Shame on this continued, divisive rhetoric that is doing us so much harm.

If you want to criticize the president or any other public official because you do not agree with their policy, agendas or actions, say so, face up to them. This is still a free country where we can do this.

BUT, do not disrespect the country or its people. You are insulting all those who fought or gave their lives for that flag and this country, who continue to this day to fight on foreign soil to defend freedom.

GOD bless America!

I was born in a country that wanted to kill my ancestors in its national anthem!

"No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave"

My grandfather served in a military that wouldn't provide him decent healthcare after WWI, My uncle came back from the second World War in the Pacific as one of the first black US Marines. but he was denied admission to white majority colleges, He then returned to serve in Korea to defeat communism and still he was discriminated against in education and jobs. My Army vet uncle and I were denied the chance to swim on Ft. lauderdale because of because of my color. My father was a top college quarterback in the early 50's who was never even considered for an NFL position.

This country wants me and my peers to sit on my hands while it continues to deny opportunity, jobs and to arrest and kill and Im suppose to sit still? I served 20 years as a Naval pilot to protect free speech and the right to assemble. There is nothing in the constitution that states I must stand for the Anthem or salute the flag for the Pledge, but the right to speak freely and to assemble are in writing and guaranteed. @Milly MY family has fought to defend the Bill of Rights not some faux patriotic principal, that makes you feel good. The US Constitution is what makes this country unique.

To demand we stand, salute and cheer on que epitomizes the demands of a dictatorial facist regime that my family has fought for going on four generations. Remember we are here not by choice and we have still fought for democracy harder than anybody! It's not about respect for respect sake it about respect for the United States Constitution.......

God never said bless America nor did he say honor your National Anthem God stated “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.”
