Now we know that Florida's Attorney General Pam Bondi decided to drop a fraud investigation of Trump University after receiving a $25,000 campaign contribution from Donald Trump. There's nothing much good to say about the pandering to Trump from Florida.

To Whom it May Concern:
As I understand it, the Office of the Attorney General is the place to go when residents feel they have been taken advantage of or duped. Bravo! I commend those responsible for providing an outlet for the voiceless to be heard.
Here, then, is my complaint:
As a Florida voter, I feel cheated. Scammed. Hustled. And from talking to acquaintances, I think you will find many, many others who feel similarly misled.
In the months preceding the fall election of 2010, attorney general candidate Pam Bondi pledged to "defend the residents of this state against all types of fraud.'' She also claimed to be an outsider who would function as a legal officer and not a politician. And on multiple occasions, she promised to "protect and guarantee transparency.''
I believe this is called bait-and-switch advertising.
Since being elected attorney general, Ms. Bondi has been a voracious fundraiser and political opportunist. Her work as a consumer crusader seems much less impressive.
I understand the AG's office cannot pursue every consumer inquiry that comes its way, but it seems some standards should be maintained. For instance, the attorney general should not be soliciting campaign donations from someone, say, like Donald Trump, who was under investigation for fraud elsewhere. Or people who have a history of consumer complaints in Florida.
Even a freshman law student would understand that such an appearance of impropriety could have a devastating effect on the public's confidence in the state's top legal official. And yet, Ms. Bondi has done little to explain why she sees no conflict in accepting financial support from someone accused of fraud by nearly two dozen Florida residents.
All of this would seem to be in direct opposition to the many promises she once made to voters.
So I would like to request that the Attorney General's Office investigate the possibly deceptive trade practices of the Florida Attorney General.
