This is very sad to me. I like Al and he backed us most of his claims with extensive public documents. I wish him the best but totally understand. I hope he comes back. His site froze and I guess out of frustration he decided to take a break. Can a computer whiz offer their services? We need Al back.
The good news: He is still on twitter.

Maybe a computer took him out? On purpose.
a computer whiz took him out.... I need coffee!
seriously though, there are those folks out there who would do this in a heart beat if they thought he was getting too close on their tail.
Al Crespo has done a great job offering a critical eye on the state of the city of Miami. Don't leave, Al. Reconstitute!
Posting on a Facebook page or a wordpress site is pretty foolproof (and can be free), not sure why he doesnt just do that (in addition to Twitter).
why doesn't he just use Blogger? I bet he still has an aol account
The flow of information that Al gave us was great. He kept us informed on the dishonestly of politicians, preachers and police. The three P's.
Al get back in the saddle as soon as possible.
His computer server may just be trying to detox!
Perhaps there is a new program to remove malcontents.
Dear Genius,
Thanks for the kinds words and concern, but no one hacked my site, nor anything else happened other than the 2009 version of the IWEB program that I use to create my stories became unstable with more than 250,000 files, and the Directory files seem to have had a fit of some kind.
I used that problem to make the decision - for multiple reasons - that this was an opportunity to quit blogging on a regular basis.
In the next week or so I will create a new page that will host the archival site for all of my stories, but I think that my days of putting out the Crespogram are over.
That doesn't mean I'm slinking away, but that I intend to use the time I want to devote to community affairs in a better way.
Of course, like I said in my original letter that you posted, this is Miami, Bitches!, and strange shit can, and often happens, so there might be something so egregiously nasty occurring that would prompt be to put on the gloves so to speak. I hope not, because I'm beginning to enjoy not waking up with a constant need to think about the next story.
If it quits raining I might even behave like a tourist and go to the beach. Something that I haven't done much of the last 5 years.
RIP blogging.
Long live blogging.
The crooks are cheering at city hall. It's a sad day.
Since he has all the answers, perhaps he should run for political office, actually try to benefit our community and not just complain, insult and demonstrate the worst behavior.
He should post a farewell notice. After all, people are commenting he got paid to stop blogging.
Good riddance! May he find a less horrific and mean spirited hobby.
