State Rep. Jose Javier Rodriguez Announced NUKE Meetings April 22 and 23. By Geniusofdespair

Florida Power & Light (FP&L) has applied to the federal government for permission to build two new nuclear reactors at Turkey Point. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) evaluates this project for safety and environmental impact. As part of deciding whether or not to grant FP&L permission, the NRC must take public comment.

If you would like to comment on FP&L’s proposal to add new nuclear reactors at Turkey Point – or would simply like to learn more about the project – please consider participating in upcoming public meetings.
There are two ways to participate.

The first way to participate is to attend one of the upcoming public meetings in Miami and Homestead. The contact for both is Scott Burnell, of the NRC, who can be reached at (301) 415-8200.

One hearing will be on Wed., April 22, from 7:00PM -10:00PM at Florida International University’s Stadium Club Room, 11200 S.W. 8th Street.

Another set of hearings will be in Homestead the following day on Thurs., April 23, from 1:00PM - 4:00PM, and then again from 7:00PM - 10:00PM at Hampton Inn & Suites, 2855 NE 9th Street, Reef Room, Homestead FL.

So as a democrat (minority party) in the State House (has no say on the issue), how exactly is he going to effect the outcome?

How ironic that the same idiots fighting against nuclear power plants in Florida also support a deal with Iran to build nuclear power plants there!

Jose Javier is worthless just like Richardson. If I wanted my representative to tell me how he is getting his ass kicked in Tally I would not have sent him there. Turned out to be a huge disappointment. He is too busy taking pictures with the Regaldo clan (his new best friends) instead of fighting for us. No backbone at all. Just doing town halls and sending out a cheap newsletter doesn't cut it. Come on Jose! Your better than that!

Reader above be realistic. Democrats can't get anything past the Republican majority. Dan Gelber put bill after bill up when he was in and couldn't get anything passed. If you want Democrats to be more effective, then vote for more Democrats -- too many Republicans are in our house and senate.

I think that a Diaz de la Portilla brother wrote the above trashing both the Regalados and the Dems.

One of the most important things the public can do is send the NRC substantive comments on FPL's plan. The NRC must review these. Email turkeypointCOLEIS@nrc.gov
