Interesting legal topic. The owners have more privacy now. You never want to live on a golf course because of the pesticides and lawn mower noise. The owners are lucky Trump didn't close the course and develop condominiums.
Property owners who live adjacent to golf courses are invariably exposed to some level of contamination from over-application of arsenic based substances to control pests and keep the tees, fairways, and roughs green. Such contamination is almost always found in both groundwater(from subsurface migration) and soil (from surface water runoff). Thankfully, the law provides multiple remedies in favor of those who live next to golf courses. Such remedies include statutory claims for cost recovery and loss of property value and property use pursuant to section 376.313(3), Florida Statutes, and for injuntive relief to compel cleanup by the property owner pursuant to section 403.412, Florida Statutes. The common law also recognizes numerous causes of action to recover economic damages, including but not limited to trespass, nusiance, strict liability, and negligence. Just saying.
This seems to be happening to many golf courses in Miami. The Keys Gate golf course and the Kendale Lakes golf course are in limbo of becoming something else and the Calusa golf course has already closed.
