Press Release About Nasty Ad Put Out Against Daniella Levine Cava. By Geniusofdespair

Palmetto Bay, Fla. - The Daniella Levine Cava Campaign issued the following statement in response to the outrageously false television ad launched by Lynda Bell and her PAC, Good Government Now:
“Lynda Bell is clearly afraid to showcase her extreme record and pay-to-play politics as a county commissioner. So she has resorted to attacking Daniella Levine Cava’s nearly two decades of service at Catalyst Miami to thousands of Miami-Dade families. These ads are financed by deep-pocketed special interest groups that want to protect their number one ally on the county commission by distorting the facts about Daniella’s exemplary record. Miami-Dade residents are ready to shake up the status quo at county hall and the voters of District 8 will choose a proven leader like Daniella Levine Cava, who has been a true champion for South Dade.”l

Doug Hanks of the Miami Herald said about this ad - saying Daniella Levine Cava made $500,000:
Fine print on the screen shows the $500,000 figure came from 10 years of federal tax returns. The reference is to Catalyst Miami, a social-services organization that Cava left before running for Bell's District 8 seat.  The two most recent tax returns for  Catalyst (officially called the Human Services Coalition of Dade County) record Cava earning $38,900 in 2012 and $55,593 in 2011. This year, Catalyst is slated to receive a $110,000 grant from Miami-Dade.

I thought being wealthy is the Rebulican ideal? Linda Bell thinks being rich is a handicap except when she is negotiating million dollar contracts for public land or accepting campaign contributions?

Ad was on point.
CBOs are all about jobs for the staff. Very little trickles down to the needy. Cava is Miami's version of Hillary, dead broke with two million dollar homes.lol

This ad is what you expect to be leveled against a straight arrow. Levine averaged $50k salary as a director of an organization, and this is the best Lynda can do.
I like the ads Bell is running with the nice photo of Levine saying "Levine doesn't know you." Keep the free publicity coming.
Levine and Bell both know me, I know them both. Bell is a Tina Fey parody of herself. Levine is the real deal.

Daniella is directly responsible for bringing tens of millions of dollars into the Dade economy, not only through grants, by by partnering with local corporations and creating real opportunities. $50,000 a year for what she's done is a screaming deal.

As to the person who defends the ad - give me a break. The ad intentionally tries to make people believe that Daniella's salary was $500,000 a year. It is dishonest. So what if she owns a house, or even two. She's in her late 50s and married to a doctor.

Nice job, Lynda. You are about the foulest politician I have ever seen and I have been to staff to three.

How much is a commissioner's salary worth in benefits? Let's see, you make about 60k a year? Times what? 8 years? Isn't that pretty near 500k? At 10 years, it would be well beyond that.

Wow, Cava could do her own ad, because your "public" service job (cough, cough) costs tax payers a bundle; actually more than Cava's salary cost.

Lynda, read my lips: You and your lobbyist buddies are what is wrong with miami dade county.

SHAME on you. What a fine specimen of Christianity you are. Your witness to "walking the walk" is more than lacking.

"Money that was supposed to go to her charity went into her pocket."

What a lying bunch of creeps representing Lynda's interest. If she or her minions (as her former friend Natasha, would call them) ever wrote a grant budget, they would know that no social service grant funds an executive director's salary at 100%, if at all -- in fact, many grants will not fund operations at all, just direct services that have have performance requirements.
