RESOLUTION DIRECTING MIAMI-DADE COUNTY AND THE PUBLIC HEALTH TRUST NOT TO ENTER INTO, RENEW OR EXTEND ANY CONTRACTS FOR FOOD SERVICES RELATED TO A MIAMI-DADE COUNTY OR PUBLIC HEALTH TRUST FUNDED OR OPERATED FOOD PROGRAM UNLESS THE CONTRACTOR, VENDOR, SUPPLIER OR GRANTEE AGREES NOT TO USE MEAT PRODUCTS CONTAINING ''PINK SLIME'' IN FOOD PROVIDED OR SERVED AS PART OF A MIAMI-DADE COUNTY OR PUBLIC HEALTH TRUST OPERATED OR FUNDED FOOD PROGRAM...
Do they serve it at the Redland Hotel that Lynda and her husband own? Ask before you order a burger at the Whistle Stop. If she would serve it to people and children fed by the County I am sure she would serve it to people fed by her like her patrons and family.
The County Commission voted 10 to 1 to NOT allow pink slime in food products served by the County or Public Health Trust in their food programs (Resolution above). The only Commissioner who defended the pink slime additive was the District 8 County Commissioner Lynda Bell, she said it made for leaner beef. She kept saying I am not defending it, as she defended it. Here is her reasoning in her own words. Watch the damn video.

What is Pink Slime:
Just what you want in your burger. |
It's actually a low-cost ingredient in ground beef made from fatty left over meat trimmings from other cuts. The bits are heated to about 100 F and spun to remove most of the fat, then compressed into blocks for use in ground meat. The product is then exposed to "a puff of ammonium hydroxide gas" to kill bacteria, such as E. coli and salmonella.
Is this the kind of County Commissioner you want? One that would would not protect the public from meat fillers puffed with ammonium hydroxide gas?
How about voting for Daniella Levine Cava for district 8 County Commissioner on August 26th? Let's get rid of Lynda and her stupid votes. The rest of the County Commission protected the public what is wrong with her? Especially since she believes as a "fiscal conservative" the Government should not be trusted, why is she believing the FDA all of a sudden?

I thought her title as "slime queen" referred to her dubious ethical record.
I had no idea she is doing wild convoluted rants. I though that was Soto's thing.
The video was too funny. Fast talking Babe
It looks like strawberry soft-serve.
She owns a restaurant? That is scary.
Lynda: stop looking up stuff up on the internet. Listen a little more and stop talking, you would be better served.
OMG!!!! I have eaten at the restaurant in the hotel that the Bell's own. Thankfully - it was only breakfast. Why do I think she would happily pass this off as good hamburger meat. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!
Vote her out!!!
Yet another reason to vote Lynda Bell OUT OF OFFICE. We need better elected leadership ASAP.
District 8 needs a new voice this August. Vote Daniella! http://daniellalevinecava.com/
The FDA approves splenda (rat Poison) and Sweet and Low. Does that mean we should eat it. Just as Lynda Admits to be an Ayn Rand Groupie - having poor taste in books, it looks like she has poor taste if foods too.
If you add sugar to it, it becomes a perfect product. Does it last as long as a twinkie?
I met her challenger the other day Daniella Levine Cava. She is seriously an amazing woman of huge integrity. A la Katy Sorenson. Go Daniella Levine Cava!!!
And if you DONT live in that district call your friends- city commission affect us all no matter where you live (and I dont live in her district!)
That slime is gross. When she is no longer county commissioner, Lynda can get a job at the packing company. She would be good at running the slime extruder.
I was watching Ghostbusters II last week and "pink slime"was in the sewer system underground destroying the city. The person moving the pink slime was a mean spirited person out to hurt the citizens in the town. This reminded me of Lynda Bell.
Mrs. Daniella Cava would never support pink slime.
So we have pink slime soft-serve going into a cardboard box?
Was that box lined with a sanitary material?
Was the box made from recycled materials that were not sanitized or had any possible contamination removed?
Yes, Lynda you are correct, eat your veggies! But make sure they come from Dade County farms, because other countries ship us things that are just as yummy as pink slime.
Just ask the Farm Bureau for their Mexican field to grocery video. Nice video of our stores selling tomatoes created with things that Lynda would approve as well. AND those imported tomatoes are USA government approved too!
