My Easter Prayer: Pepe Diaz says "Del Pueblo...Para el Pueblo" I say NO WAY IN HELL (Or in your dreams Pepe)! By Geniusofdespair

Waiting for the Redemption of County Commissioner Jose 'Pepe' Diaz
Rescued from the brink of death
Pepe's a lucky man
God looks down upon him waiting
Waiting for the redemption of this fractured man
God waits for Pepe's glorious Epiphany
Months have passed, it has not come
God is patient but he wonders
When will Pepe care about all the people
And use his votes for the good instead of the connected
God thinks, Pepe's a selfish man
Or, maybe worse, just a stupid man
The rich get richer and God waits
and waits
For Pepe to become a righteous man.

This is a very bizarre, kind of unsettling post.

Since his serious brain operation I have been waiting for his Jack Abramoff epiphany, still waiting. I can't be the only one. If it is unsettling to you to have an Easter wish not about bunnies and eggs, then I guess my post would scare you. Why can't we wish for better on a day when we celebrate resurrection, change.

there once was a man named Jose
who's vote could be easily swayed
by a trip, gift or fee
through the airport it be
the way it was usually paid.

Good post. Pepe always professes to be for the people as he votes with his lobbyist pals (Fuentes). He doesn't care about us, that is why his caption on his webpage is so hysterical: "From the people for the people."

Sorry though, You can't guilt him, he is too stupid.

Del Pueblo, Para el Pepe

I am surprised Jose "Pepe" Diaz did not put the motto of the U.S. Marines on his site: "Semper Fidelis"...always faithful, always loyal. But then people would ask, what he is loyal to, or faithful to?

Diaz lives in fear of making a decision, any decision. He would rather give wealthy property owners like Sergio Pino a tax break than properly fund police, fire and libraries for his constituents.

Maybe Oz could give this cowardly lion, and self-declared former Marine, a good dose of Courage. It's not too late, Diaz. The days ahead are full of opportunities to display some conviction and bravery. Semper Fi!

I have seen it happen many times. Someone is touched with life-threatening illness. These are life-changing experiences. God heals them for a period of time to get their house in order. The old life is over, but they can't see it. Once they begin to feel like their old self and feel they are healed, they go back to their old ways of doing things. And death comes. Let's hope he sees the light.

Diaz leaves a lot to be desired but you must agree, in comparison to the corruptive antics of Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Diaz is just a. babe in the woods.

A babe in the woods with a vote. Terrible combination.

"Judge not ...." echoing in my mind with this post.

All the same, I hope that he will not make a mockery of his faith. I'll be tending to mine.

Pepe Diaz appears to always side with sleazy lobbyists. When will he begin to represent the people?

Anonymous said...

Judge not .......only if we too had a vote. He decides for uS all so he should be judged.

The bad karma will catch up with him. Why doesn't he have a challenger?

Because the people in his district love him! And they love his staff! That's what happens when you have single-member districts. The community as a whole may not like how a commissioner votes on County-wide decisions, but those living in his/her district, love having access to their commissioner.

Pepe Diaz provides excellent response to his residents. He participates in neighborhood events, he visits his neighbors and his staff resolves residents' problems immediately.

And he loves the Everglades! Ha-ha-ha!

If you have seen the women on his staff, you would vote for him, too. Collectively, they range somewhere between stunning and gorgeous.

He doesn't have to love the Everglades. His staff responds to potholes and late garbage pickups. They come out and clean up graffiti. Residents who develop a phone relationship with a Commissioner's staff feel connected to their local government, something they don't feel with the county mayor.

If he has an excellent constituent services operation, human beings answer the phone, fast response times, good problem-solving performance, interested in the everyday problems and needs of residents and the like, in a place like this, only God can take him out.

There is nothing stopping any of you from identifying and funding a candidate to run against him. You do have a vote, sort of. It's hard work, but worth it.

Rather let God take him out.
