You are making it too easy for Commissioners. If you ran against Pepe Diaz, you could bring up issues, cause him to work hard for campaign donations and pick the pockets of lobbyists. What could be better? Don't give them a free pass. Out of 6 County Commissioners running, half don't have an opponent. That is a sorry ass situation. I like Rebeca Sosa but she should be punished for making Lynda Bell Vice Chair.
Now here in Erik Fresen's district we have some brave souls running. Consider voting for them instead of Erik. You have plenty of choices. Running against Erik Fresen is Daisy Baez and Ross Hancock Democrats and Amory Bodin a Republican.
Why you should vote Democrat if you are a Republican: We have too much cronyism because the Republicans have a lock on Tallahassee. Do you want to give the sugar industry a free ride, or put money in Academia's pocket? How about Perks for Dosal Tobacco and Genting Gambling Casino? If that is what you want, then definitely vote Republican. If you want good government you have to even things out. All one party is not a good thing for anyone.

When did Ross file?
I don't know. Look it up. I am not in charge of looking up stuff.
Ross is a good person. Met him at the last candidates forum.
Ross filed 3/31.
Why dont YOU run? You certainly have a following.
In House District 115, which is Pinecrest up to Doral, no one is challenging Bileca even though he only won by 2% in 2012.
Its not too bright to have Hancock run against Baez; they'll water down the Dem votes and Fresen will win - just like Meek and Crist.
No it would just be a primary. Republican and Democrat will go against each other in the election.
How this works: There is a primary election on August 26, and this is also when we choose between Lynda Bell and Daniella Levine Cava (if you live in District 8). If you are registered Republican and are in Fresen's overlapping District 114, you will also choose between Fresen and Bodin. Independents have no primary candidates, so they just have the Bell/Cava thing. Democrats in Fresen's district choose between Baez and Hancock, and also between Charlie Crist and Nan Rich for governor. So if these primary candidates create some energy in the overlapping Bell/Fresen districts, it affects Daniella's chances. If Baez brings Hispanic Democrats to the polls and Hancock gets environmentalists out, it probably adds some good turnout for Daniella. Aug. 26 is a primary for the Fresen challegners, but it's the final vote for the county commissioner Bell/Cava race.
Last anon, interesting take on the Dem primary. However, there's not much of an over lap into Dist. 8. This would definitely be a victory lap if Cava was running in Dist. 7.
I like both Ross & Daisy. That's going to be a very close primary.
Almost half of the Democrats in Fresen's district live in District 8, in Cutler Bay.
Last anon unfortunately, that's not going to do much within District 8 vote. The heaviest voter turn out by numbers is in Palmetto Bay and west of US 1.
balance of power is paramount for our survival. but i must say Sally Heyman is also a poor example of a politician and she needs am opponent as well. might wake her up to reality or maybe not in which case we need to send he packing.
What was the vote difference in the last District 8 election? Very small. Everything matters.
there have been elections won by 1 or 2 votes in PB.
Even worse... Tonight Eddy Gonzalez of Hialeah who pushed Dolphins stadium upgrade on taxpayers announced he is running for tax Appraiser! We need to make sure he doesn't win!!!!! The guy doesn't even live in his district. Homestead fraud as well.
Hey, Dems, Ross doesn't appeal to Indies and anti-Fresen Republicans. Give Daisy a shot.
Rolle, toad of toad hall, runneth again?! ufb
