Is FPL trying to take over our local governments by interference? By Geniusofdespair

FPL has no shame. They are not in the power business for homes they are in the power business to interfere with local government. First it was South Miami now it is Palmetto Bay.  Is this survey and PAC for Lynda Bell - who is an FPL Supporter? What is really going on? Is Peter England involved in this PAC?

This went out to Palmetto Bay Residents:

Dear Palmetto Bay Friends & Neighbors,

As a concerned Village of Palmetto Bay resident, I have created an organization -- Citizens for Responsive Government -- to ensure that our interests and needs are protected and served.

Our Village and community are very important to us all -- with your help, we can all work together but first we must better understand our community & neighborhood needs.

Please share your views & opinions about our Village of Palmetto Bay, by following this link and answering a brief confidential survey - Paul Neidhart
Chairman, Citizens for Responsive Government PC
Do not answer that stupid survey. Why should a lobbyist and FPL know anything about you. This is not a neutral entity in my view.

Note the name of the Treasurer
Jorge Luis Lopez is long term FPL Lobbyist and good friend of Mayor Gimenez.

HERE IS THE SURVEY:

No, I think this is all about FPL getting a favorable rezoning of their power plant property. Peter England has obviously sold out to FPL.

Anonymous said...

It is a push poll on FPL property.

Anonymous said...

This is a very transparent move. Paul Neidhart is shilling for Peter England who is so openly and directly declaring his allegiance to FPL over the neighbors.

This is dangerous. People must be warned.

FPL actually admitted paying for a similar poll in South Miami last December. They used that information to help figure out who should run against the incumbents in order to get a city commission that would stop fighting their transmission lines. FPL's picks were Newman, Feliu, Shelley, and Williams. Looks like they're trying the same formula in Palmetto Bay, except this time they're running it through a Pam Bondi look-alike working for Lopez.

What ever it is, it's non scientific... Heard from four people who recieved email survey. 3 don't live in Palmetto Bay. 2 are not registered voters. So whatever comes out of it, is bullshit.

I don't live in Palmetto Bay, so of course I filled it out. The problem with these opinion polls is they are targeted to generate the preferred opinion. Be contrary. Unfortunately, the dupes in public office often believe they have the "pulse of the community" when the lobbyists show them the poll results. There must be a term for this type of narcissistic polling data. Echo-polls? Affirmation surveys?

Anonymous said...

LOL! Maybe they should be called "LBSP"
For" Lopez Bull Shit Polls" I hear he pays this guy from Miami Lakes a few hundred dollars and then goes around showing the bullshit results.

Lopez and Gimenez combo-corruption at its best

Well don't be surprised if the candidates they are supporting include Eugene Flinn, David Zisman and Karyn Cunningham as well as former FPL Government Relations Executive Peter England.

Paul Neidhardt,as Flinn always called him, was the first Council member elected in Palmetto Bay. He's a big fan of Flinn's as well as Peter England. Peter England gave Neidhardt his very cushy job at the Economic Development Council. Neidhardt lost the job because he and England couldn't play by the rules.

FPL should watch out, get the residents mad with the sale of the property to the wrong development plan and no zoning will be approved.

I wonder if it ever occurred to FPL that perhaps the sale of the property would be welcomed. $40 million of new tax base.

Are you confused? The original lawsuit filed by Palmer against Palmetto Bay was filed in 2008 or is google wrong?

Anonymous said...

Flinn voted for the 900 students while he was mayor. Mmmm.

Anonymous said...

So what is your point? Is Stanczyk Palmer's best friend? She made the motion. Stanczyk, then mayor Flinn and then vice mayor Pariser voted for it. Why blame Flinn when there would never never been a 900 student limitation has Stanczyk not made that motion? That hearing was held in 2010, long after the 2008 frivolous lawsuit was filed by Palmer. This is the lawsuit that has never gone anywhere.

Stanczyk could have resolved everything in 2011, but denied any expansion, even the prior 900 students. That was the decision that drew the ugly appellate decision lambasting her for disregarding the property rights of the school

Yes. Flinn wanted no more than 900 students given the current traffic situation. Did Stanczyk want more?

Basically, fellow PB residents. ALL of you are annoying and juvenile. I am going to answer poll, just to mess with the results and cost them money.

I personally think Flinn and the original council were fine leaders until the community became as corrupt as it could be after he retired. They were smart and sooooooo family friendly.

This village now sucks and it has more to do with the Peter Englands/John Dubois'/Lynda Bells of the world than neighborhood activists or the gotminers.

We went from village that was creating an exciting green future for the community to one that does nothing but fight and lie and kiss corporate ass. The new guys on the council have no respect for women nor the people who voted them into office.

It is not about MAKING money off the backs of the community, it is about making a community livable and pleasant place to live.

I would be pleased if every politician in office, including the ones are related to the teabag faction, would get their butts kicked out of office and be replaced by 90 year old seniors who have common sense.

Running for office used to be about betterment of community; it now is all about fuc*ing another candidate at the expense of the community's quality of life.

I don't like anyone sitting on the board and I certainly don't like the fact that England et.al. and the other nitwits on the city council are teabag behaving anti-women men.

They can be married, they can be church-going saints, but they are back room wheeler-dealers that believe that women are an accessory simply to be used to achieve their goals.

I am tired of lying and fighting in the chambers and in public meetings. I am tired of the fake discussions and lies about Palmer and all the other big business ventures that all these people seem to cook-up to enhance their image (Yes including the arrogant contingent that lurking in the political shadows)-- I am tired of the nasty nasty nasty behavior.

I want someone who gives a damn about whether I can get to work because of traffic, whether or not residents from other city's keep my family held hostage with oversize business interests or whether my neighbors are safe.

I want a county commissioner and city council who do not expect special favors because they exist and likewise, I don't expect them to do special favors for their friends and cronies.

NOT ONE OF the council(women included) or the current political wannabes represent what my vision for the community. I am not the kind of people that they are.

What the hell is wrong with the whole lot of them, including those people who think they are community leaders? What exactly is in the water in Palmetto Bay?

You are correct that Stanczyk made the motion. Judge Schwartz at the 3rd DCA called the 900 a political compromise that Palmer should have taken. Remember, that without Flinn's vote it would not have gone anywhere.

Traffic? Flinn ruled that the testimony by the resident's traffic consultant could not be considered. It proved that the traffic didn't work. Palmer still has no approved traffic study from the County.

Flinn's entire behavior at the hearing was a charade to set up the residents to fail and build support from the Palmer people for his political future.

By the way, the lawsuit that still hangs on is not the 900 students, it is the zoning case from 2008 where Flinn went against staff recommendation and denied the re-zoning.

Flinn was against Palmer Trinity when he was running for County Commission. Now he supports everything he campaigned against back then for whatever reason. I think his ego and those who don't like the current mayor are convincing him to run again as a savior or something to that affect.

To the post though. It should be a loud alarm to those in South Dade. FPL has too much control over local elections, the county and the Public Service Commission. Only we, collectively, can stop them by calling them out on this stuff. We can also vote against any candidate when their supporters are using PAC $$$ to run negative ads against their opponents.

When you receive anything during an election look who sent it. If it's not the candidate, throw it away, ignore it.

Does anyone know for sure if Flinn is planning to run again?

Did anyone notice that Neidhart called the group an "organizaiton" not a PC better known as a PAC. Is this a violation already?
